In this video I'm showcasing the a track mod that came highly recommended by many of you: Bridgehampton by LilSki. This track was in use from 1954 to 1999, but lives on through Assetto Corsa.

I assume that the clip starting at 0:37 is an early version of the AC track, the graphics look terrible. (Just kidding...)
lol. Assetto Corsa v0.01 beta clip
I raced my first race at the Bridge in the Skip Barber Formula Ford series : 18th to 5th in 1985! The track was always in a state of flux. Cars would go off course and just dig into the soft sand and roll over. It was one hell of a long drive to get there. NASCAR and Can-Am were there, including Trans-Am. The maintenance building on the infield next to the pits was lined with centerfolds from all the greats: Hustler, Penthouse and Playboy. Thanks for covering my favorite track ever!
That’s amazing! Loved reading that. Thanks for watching
That's incredible.. I've done hundreds of laps of that track in VR. Couldn't even imagine doing it in real life.. and in a Skip? That's insane!!
It's a real testament to how good the handling model is in Assetto Corsa when you come across tracks that truly make you wary when going into corners or sections. Few racers tend to do that to me, but AC does quite a lot.
Love this track here in AC and in RF2. So much great content in this sim, anything from Fat Charlie or Reboot Team is always top quality. Mix with some some VRC, Bazza or RSS mods and it's smiles for days 😃😃😃
Bridgehampton with Radicals is amazing experience. Maybe it looks more eyecandy on AC but I like it more on rFactor 2, it feels on another level becouse of the ffb.
Its even better in old school muscle spec race cars with friends. The weight really plays well with this tracks elevation changes. Gets spicy haha
Fantastic track, goes so well with the AC Legends cars. I've spent so many hours lapping the McLaren M8C around this place, such an exhilarating experience in VR!
This is what makes sim racing so special. If I had all the money on earth, I couldn't race on Bridgehampton IRL anymore. Mike, also check out Riverside if you haven't
Great choice, matches so well with the ACL and WSC cars from the '60s - and it still looks amazing with the way Lilski made the verges 'merge' with the road. It's as close to perfection as AC can get.
Which cars specifically would you recommend to try on this track? I'm a huge Bazza fan aswell :)
@@John_Rambo864 can't go wrong with any of them really! I had a lot of fun mixing together the late 60s GTC cars, specifically the Shelby GT350R with the Corvette C2s, Cobras and Porsche 911s. Sprinkle some of the WSC Porsche 906s and Chevrons in for some variety.
Loved this old track. They used to use it a lot on SRS back in the day.. Wish there had been some updates since 2017.. Thanks for sharing Mike.
Wonderful circuit - spent countless hours at this place on its release, wonderful place to visit in VR too. Always love your work Mike. Hope you are all good. Dre
I love the combination of Bridgehampton on RF2 and 1990s DTM cars.
In a strange way Mike, this highlights how far Assetto Corsa has come. Cos I got Bridgehampton when it first came out. And it had 2 versions - a Summer & Autumn version with the fantastic coloured leaves. But with SOL & CSP, that now has become irrelevant. As you can of course now just change it to any season you like... AMAZING!!!
Hey Michael! Yeah, you’re absolutely right. AC has evolved so much over the years. It’s almost unrecognizable. In a good way!
It comes alive in historic cars.
Nothing beats the feel of OG AC. Nothing lol the mods feel amazing also. Special feel of ffb in this sim.
Yes, i don't understand all the people blabbing about AC FFB feeling floaty, i alway find the cars to be very talkative and easy to understand as long as your FFB and FOV are correctly setup, i'm always having a blast on AC. In other sims i always end up feeling like something is missing honestly.
During the Pandemic lockdowns, the official Trans-Am online series used both this and LilSki's Riverside. He also did a Road America mod.
In terms of a couple other, historic US tracks, Sergio Loro has done Stardust and Greenwood Roadway. The latter has some pretty good elevation change and a few kind of scary, banked corners over the course of the lap.
As a further note on Bridgehampton, I think LilSki may have provided a few different options in terms of the road mesh. So you might be able to try it out roughly as new; in a more bedded-in state, like around the time of the last professional events there in 1971; and a late-life state, like not so long before the track closed.
The Can-Am record at "the Bridge" is a 1:24.62, set by Bruce McLaren in his McLaren M8B in 1969.
I don't know if anyone is actively working on Augusta or Meadowdale at present, though you can find a real basic, floating road rendering of the former on Lilski's YT channel.
From what I gather, Sergio Loro has it on his list to do Continental Divide Raceway. There is a GPL mod for that one, so you can at least get a look at that if you find a video on YT.
I kind of put what Fat-Alfie/David Pemberton does in a different category in terms of the type of track, because it feels a little unfair to compare a purpose-built track to something like Bremgarten or Battenbergring.
EDIT: And for those north of the border, there's P_Cote's Mont Tremblant 1969 mod.
Cool, I volunteered as a corner worker for motoercycle races at Bridgehampton in the 1990's just before it closed. Thank you for the memories.
This same track is also available in rF2 Steam Workshop and I enjoy it even more there!
I think this track was one of the first mod tracks I got when I started playing AC, I usually drive there with the formula junior cars by Sergio
Loro :)
Worked for Skip Barber Racing a LONG time ago. I never made it here, but I worked with many who did not appreciate the sand.
Ahah, it sure might've taken some serious testies to go fast around this track, i guess from a mechanics POV it was probably a nightmare to work on a car with all the sand and dust collected by the cars !
Looks really nice, gonna have to try this
This is my favorite track mod for AC. I have a couple hot lap videos from like 5 years ago on my channel using everything from a Zakspeed Escort MK2 to a Indycar. Great track to drive fast even by yourself.
Stuff like this is what makes sim racing such a joy!
Took the Ford Supervan 3 V10 around this track when I was first getting acquainted to PC mod simracing way back in 2018. It was an absolute blast 😂😂😂😂.
Ginetta GT5 (the little one) is great around here and the Ford transit 69 Supervan is good fun too :)
this is a great track! I love driving D-type Jags here.
I remember first time trying it after a friend recommended it. It was in a 70s Porsche RSR. It didn't go well. Amazing track nevertheless
I legit have driven over 100 hours on this track... Its just amazing
Excellent track , definitely TOP 10 . Tru to the era , would love to keep the track the same but upgrade to modern surroundings . . .
I love it too, still today the orange cones help me a lot 😅
Hey Mike do you mind sharing your PP filter? Great content btw!
My favorite real track in sim racing that I've tried is Atlanta Motorsports Park (I used in RF2). Overall for me it's a toss up btwn AMP and Mojave Boa Ascent, from PC2. As maybe you can tell I tend to like looping tracks w/ a lot of elevation change and clear sighting spots for breaking, etc.
Laguna Seca is up there too☺️
VIR is pretty good but the lack of clear breaking markers and trackside features for reference points lowers it for me.
Nordschleife is too narrow & a bit too long for me, but if you widened it by at least another 50% and made the curbs less steep it would also be a contender 😇
YES ! Bridgehampton, my favorite track after the Nords to cruise around with AI !
hey Mike, wich ppfilter are you using? looks really good and natural
It’s called C13Aegis, and it’s available on RD / Overtake
@@SimRacing604 thanks!
hey mike, what volume do you have your transmission sound set to?
Indycar here is incredible imo
Fonteny best mod track for me , very nice detail and fun circuit
This looks nice indeed, but nothing beats Abulzz' Targa Florio by a long shot...
hey can you tell me what is that map mod showing the positions of others ! great vid !
Thank you! It’s just called Track Map Display, or Map Display. Its free on RaceDepartment/ Overtake
Brilliant old track, but as most of track, you need to use cars that match the decades of the thacks... like old Silverstone or Monza or even Spa feels great with old cars and usless with modern cars...
Try it with track conditions set to dusty 86% with some 60s or 70s GT cars.
Sandy Tyres sounds like some cheap lap dancer or drag act😂😂😂
Sweet! Will do, thanks
which cars did u use?
That's a great circuit but of the 500 or 600 circuits I have I don't even think it'd be top 10
What happened to racedepartment? I get redirected to overtake GG and there is a membership cost? What is happening to the community?
where does a guy get that Camaro at 43 seconds in ?
Oulton Park
Bridgehampton
Bikernieki
I's so difficult to chose only 3 top tracks...
How do you DL this track? Confusing...
Try it in a Can Am car to know fear.
Having fun saying LilSki huh?😂
This kind of looks like the track on The Last Garage demo? 🤔
Same track. I let them have it for their demo/presentation.
Bad choice of car, you need a vintage one.
Like a McLaren CANAM M1B, of a Shelby Daytona coupe, or even a Maserati 250F.
Some car able to truly slide to REALLY understand what this track is made of.
So... really BAD choice of car to test this wonderful track.
You’re completely wrong
