    Look I don’t think bronny is a bad player he’s a high major d1 guy so he obviously is talented. However, the argument of whether he is an NBA player rn is simple:
    If his name was Marcus Johnson and not Lebron james jr not ONE nba scout would even look at him. There are so many other guards in college who are light years beyond him who will never touch an nba floor.

    • @SK-mw8vd
      @SK-mw8vd Před 2 měsíci +26

      This. He's an "explosive" guard similar to Jan Vesely - in a straight line, with terrible lateral movement. His "sound jumper" has clanked badly over and over. Change his name, and he graduates after 4 years.

    • @TheHuskyK9
      @TheHuskyK9 Před 2 měsíci +9

      If those "other guards in college who are light years beyond him" are so good, they would be on mock draft boards. If ESPN knows that he isn't NBA-ready right now, then NBA owners know it too, hence why Bronny got removed from draft boards. Is there nepotism involved? Of course, same reason why other NBA players' kids get looked at more than others, that's just a part of basketball that you're gonna have to live with. But you just outright dismissing his potential just because he's LeBron's kid shows that you're inept at spotting talent.

      Oh forgot to say that he has nice intangibles especially in his demeanor. He doesn't seem to get rattled and sometimes you just need a calm presence on the floor to make timely shots. Just think his team mates wake up everyday not to defeat the other team but to outplay Bronny. They are not going to assist him in making him look good because they know he will be a shoe in anyway. Most of them guys don't have a chance to make the league and so it's the crab in the bucket at play. That is why Lebron said only the work matter because in the end that is the only thing that will matter.

    I think based on his basketball IQ (that he's obviously getting from his dad), his lateral quickness, passing ability, and perimeter scoring potential, Bronny could play in the NBA right now, but not as a starter yet. I would even give him some playing time down in the G-league to get his feet wet. But he will definitely be effective in the right system with some good coaching and personnel- especially if the Lakers pick him up.

    I love that he's playing off the bench. Hopefully it humbles him and really gives him the push he needs to take it to the next level and show the world next year when he starts.

    Finally, someone with actual helpful and valid criticism of Bronny's game. Been seeing too many casuals outright label him a "bust" solely because he's LeBron's kid and they just want to see him fail. His ceiling to me is Rajon Rondo/Lonzo Ball. Not a reliable consistent scorer, but a great passer with good court vision and solid defense.

    I actually think Bronny could have a solid NBA career. Obviously, he will get a chance because of who his dad is, but I don't think we should hate on him for that. If I was an NBA great and had a son who had a shot at playing in the NBA, I'd probably do everything I could to get court-time with my kid too. I mean, a lot of dads want to bring their son into the family business and work with/mentor him. I also think that Bronny could fit very well with a fast-paced, 3&D team. Yes, his shot is pretty bad, but it's not like we haven't seen NBA teams turn other non-shooters into viable 3&D players. For example, Grant Williams missed a ridiculous number of threes in his first few seasons in Boston before going on a streak of shooting almost 40% from beyond in the playoffs. Bronny looks like a capable defender and clearly has a high basketball IQ, which would make him a serviceable SG on many NBA teams. If his shot improves to league average, a player that can defend well, make good reads and shoot league average from beyond will always find a home in the NBA.
    Right now, I don't see 'star' in his future. However, I do think it's very realistic that Bronny could develop into the type of 3&D SG (maybe SG/SF) that every NBA team would like to have.

      Thanasis was very good defensively in the top leagues of Europe, he deserved his second chance. Bronny doesn't even look like a G league level player yet. Before people get mad, remember most G league guys killed college and some sniffed the NBA or are sent down from there. And Thanasis was G league all defense 10 years ago twice. He's a good pro who isn't quite an NBA player but as a 15th man he's not awful. put it like this. If a deserving NBA benchwarmer 15th man had a 2k rating, it would be about 70. Thanasis would be 68-70. G league average would be 64. College average 55. Bronny would probably be a 55. The worst players getting signed by nba teams are thanasis level or just below but with elite athletic ability at age 20

He’s got good energy on the defensive end and with his athleticism and frame I really think he could really bothered guards and even some wings. Offensively to this point I’m not exactly sure how well he can play off the ball with his best skill being passing. I’m not too worried about the shot right now. Although his percentages are horrible that can be developed with time and getting use to higher level basketball. Regardless of how you feel about him or LeBron I think it’s a bit ridiculous to write him off this early. That’s goes for all struggling freshman somethings take a little time
