And thank GOD it has “MARCHING” patterns for all us working musicians using that drumbeat.

Very nice review. I would have liked to see you go through the various drum sets for each genre. Much mahalo.

I've had one for a few years. Hard to find a beat on it that is suitable for a simple slow song without a loud snare or other drum, regardless of drumset choice or style of beat.

AFAIK, you can edit the rhythms in your computer.

If you go with the Mini instead, what do you miss out on? What features?

Hard time adding songs to a playlist. The beat buddy wants to change all the songs in a set to the new song drum selection. Can't resolve this with singular sound.

With the free beatbuddy manager for your PC you can do that.

I've had one of these for over 4 years, and because of updates this is not the same pedal that I bought 4 years ago.
      It's a much better pedal.
You can delete if you want, but this thing is completely expandable with plenty of room on the SD card.
No advantage to deleting anything. 😉

Was looking for this to see if it had enough genres to warrant buying I think I may go for the BB mini 2

    • @careyw3161

I bought the standard BB. It has lots of ways to expand over the basic out-of-box product. I just downloaded the premium content, which effectively quadrupled the options in the BB. Then you can get into creating your own beats and importing them into the BB for hands-free gigging. You can't do any of that with the mini. My opinion is the mini would feel pretty limited within a short time. The Beat Buddy can adapt and expand. I'm planning on adding the Aeros looper & six pedal extension, all of it working off of the BB master clock and synched with midi cables. The catch: you will absolutely have to study the manual, watch a zillion CZcams videos, and play with the thing to see what it will do. I hate the techie crap, but you can't get away from it.

I loved my beatbuddy but I’ve had 2 and they lasted about 2 years then just went out … nothing… and of course the warranty just expires a month before… then they wanted to charge me half price for a new one… i only used it in my recording studio… they need to have a 3 warranty on them at least.

    Hi, thanks for the video.
And I am also planning to get one.
But is it worth getting this big BB or better wait for newer version as its been nearly 7yrs since it came out.
    Please just share your experience.
I can wait for may be another 6months or so for newer version rather than hating myself for buying this model and the new one pops up in the market the following week..

This should really come with a 7 switch foot pedal, 3 for switching between beat variations (programmable in "song edit"), 3 for fill variations and 1 intro/ending switch.

    I always wonder
Who in the heck plays these “country” patterns?
    Obviously not a country drummer

  • @RyanUnMasked
    @RyanUnMasked Před 5 lety +5

These sound terrible. I've never understood why drum machines sound so horrible. There are too many clicks and not enough thud or boom. But unfortunately you need to learn how to use a midi and record your own samples. Or learn how to use fx in ableton to make a sincere enough boom. I want a drum machine that will hit me in the chest like how a real drummer would. The fact that it hasn't happened in 2019 is bonkers to me.

Easily the best sounding pedal on the market for at least the last 5 years.
I've had mine for 4 years now, and am very very happy with it.
I use it as a song writing tool, and for recording demos.
It sure sounds better than that drunken fool that I used to practice with. 😎
