After years of following you through a wide variety of situations with equipment, short term employees, other peoples emergencies, you are still very interesting and educational. Your knowledge, skills, ethics, work habits all continue to enhance you in an impressive and admirable manner. This situation highlights all those features and adds just another layer to the overall distinctiveness that is Warren. I’ve heard you express frustration and anger but I’ve never heard a word of resignation or despair, never seen you back away from a challenge, never witnessed you shy away from adversity. You, Sir, are an example many would be wise to emulate. I am still impressed by you.

Thanks for taking us along, Warren. Figures this happens when you are up to your behind in alligators...but your were fortunate to have the other engine. Don't give up on your Highboy swap idea...just file it away. That would be one stout truck, and about as simple and "hardened' as a guy could make it.

love your channel, I watch it for hours. I`,m 60, I was a diesel mechanic working ford a Ford tractor dealer after school every day from the 10th grade in 1979. I worked there for 6 years and I often went out in the field to work on tractors and equipment, I was very good. I later joined the Florida Highway Patrol, I was a Trooper for 26 years. i`m now retired and i`m still an excellent mechanic, i help my cousins who are farmers. Your one of the best mechanics I`ve ever seen. Keep the video`s coming.

The timing covers are different for the inline pump vs rotary pump, if you fit that compressor make sure you have a support bracket for that fuel pump or it will vibrate and crack the timing cover, you will need a good support for the compressor too.

In a perfect world it would be nice to have some kind of backup truck in situations like this. Nothing fancy, just a functional truck that at least had a crane and compressor. Welders can be swapped around as well as the tools. I know, wishful thinking you'll say, but when you absolutely depend on a truck to get by, it would be money well spent. I have come across some very decent trucks around here for not much money at all that would make excellent backups. When I say not much, I mean 20k and under for a decent functional truck. Checked out a newer Topkick last year, set up about the same size wise as what you have there with an 8k crane, hydraulic air, 3116 Cat, 6spd., torch cabinets, etc. I believe it had around 250k, sitting on good rubber, rolling down the road for 16k. Didn't buy it right then, wanted to go look at another, didn't like it and went back to go buy the Topkick and it was gone. Kicked myself ever since for not buying it on sight. Sure, it needed some work, but mostly just piddly stuff, nothing major. Warren deserves a new truck more than anybody. I hope you get yours going without issues and find some well-deserved rest.

Man Warren, that's a bummer. That could not have happened at a worst possible time. At least you had an engine in stock. I would bet money there is a different adapter housing to mount that compressor and fuel pump combo on that engine. the trick is to find the right CPL. I have worked on a lot of B and C series Cummins in the past. You have the bigger of the two air compressors I have seen on those engines, plus the hydraulic pump. The city transit busses here used them, they had the same set up because the fans were all electric over hydraulic, plus power steering. and the KW dealer I worked at had the contract for Maintenace. I can't count the number of front covers I replaced because of the compressor mountings on the front housing cracking. they broke right where the block edge is, and the aluminum housing is unsupported. I know this was a combat repair, and I am not trying to be a troll. If I still have the link, you gave us, I think it's time to buy you another few pounds of coffee or cases of beer... you should post that link more, it's not charity, it's like when they are passing the jar when you're at the bar, and you're watching a band you like...

Glad your back Warren. Was getting worried I would have to find someone else to follow ☹️ love watching and seeing the issues you get out there on agriculture gear. Keep up the good and hard work 👍

Great video Warren as always sure sorry you ran into this but, it's a good thing you already had another engine. Thanks for taking the time to bring us along even as busy as you are.

Too bad you couldn't have swapped for the p-pump. So much easier to get a ton more HP with a p-pump. But I totally understand your predicament.
