I'm still upset about Yukes' mishandling of Stone Cold's entrance and the lackluster stunner animation in WWE 2K16. Now, suddenly, in WWE 2K22 and 23, Stone Cold's entrance is flawless, and the "stunner" animation accurately reflects the iconic move. It's frustrating that these improvements took so long.
When Chain Wrestling and Working Holds were removed, it really left a gaping hole in a supposed to be WRESTLING game.
Regarding weapon physics, I think that 2K15 came quite close to what SVR11 brought, but yeah, since then, it's been getting worse and worse, at least we can still place ladders where we want to, because when they took it out, I was mad

Who remembers when you could change the length of the hair in create a wrestler ? now its all pre set length which is fine but it was a neat little addition.
Dating back further you could even change the length of sleeves on clothing and edit every individual body part to absurd sizes.
I’ve got long hair and I loved that feature. Cause there’s plenty of hair styles I’ve wanted to use for my guys in the last few career modes but it’s either too short or too long.
The first SVR game was clearly a downgrade from Smackdown hctp. In hctp we had many open backstages with the possibility of moving between them, but in the first SvR we only had one Backstage, one parking lot and we could not move between them. Also in SVR we had the shorter season mode. No more victory scenes and eliminated creating animations.
Also SvR 09 was another big downgrade from SvR 08, they removed buried alive, Gm mode, season mode, made a championship mode and the roster in svr 09 was pretty bad with no legends at the time.

yes i remember I loved svr because it had the new burn in my light orton (he just started using that song two months before the game came out) but also got disappointed at the lack of "stuff"
Little details like these really make me miss the SVR games all the more. While not every game was flawless with details, the fact that these games even included them, while none of the 2k games include them is just embarrassing. The whole series today is all based on realism, yet a lot of the games now barely have little things like the SVR games, which is very confusing. Really goes to show how much Yuke’s cared for back then. Good times. Good times.
SvR also had more creative features which 2K still lacks today 🤦🏽♂️

Wrestling game on the new 2k games isn't realistic. They get up way to quickly after moves and being hit by chairs.2k19 and svr 2009 were the best games
The 2k games they need to slow the pace down again , move away from button bashing and bring back chain wresting, and bring in situational specific moves ie spear near barricade. Chokeslams near announce table

Dang! it's about 4 years, that i didn't even realize the ringside was so small. they even forgot the crawling, they probably forgot inside ring the increase, and more. and when i played WWE 2K19, the cheering/booing and the mix sound effects were better.
From 2k14 to 15 was such a disappointment back when I first got my new ps4
I feel if we’re not included 2k22 and 23 from 2k15 16 17 we’re downgrades but 2k18 and 19 were huge upgrades
But graphic wwe 2k15 is untouched on ps4
Maybe on 2K24 we will see the graphics improve since it will be released on PS5

While a lot of these visual aspects are definitely a downgrade, i can understand when it would take so much time to do combined with data space & harder to improve on with coding. Of course it can be done & i wouldn’t be against it, but I definitely understand why they would put the effort on what is normally the first game of a new console to then see it’s not as practical to keep when fans want other things added. It’s almost like a balance of quality of life and new features & character models

If you play the Xbox 360 and ps3 versions of 2k16 and 2k15 you can still climb on tables and be a special guest referee.

Funny how the older games with unrealistic graphics were more realistic then the one's with more realistic graphics

I didn't bother with 2K23. What did they change from 2K22? I hated the controls on that game.
Dude, the PS3 era looked better than the 2K games. Say what you will about SVR08, but that game has the best-looking wrestlers in any game. I mean, they even nailed how the eyes of the Hardy Boy's are awkwardly close to each other and the sweat beaded. Now, sweat just like like oil.
They take away some detail, and then they bring them back in the couple of the next games and say Oh! We put in some more detail, go buy our game. Due to the lazy of creativity and out of new idea.

I'm gonna be honest the games really haven't looked like the changed visually. Even with 2k15 it still looked like how raw vs smackdown looked on ps2.
Increase your resolution on a bigger screen, and check out which roster can cast shadows on themselves? Which audience doesn't look like they started in a 3DO tech demo? The subtle face muscles seen in close-ups are another give away.

SvR 2007 was my 1st WWE game for PS2.
The entire game of 2K18 was a downgrade on Switch. They couldn't even make it playable and still haven't acknowledged that collosal failure

the Smackdown vs Raw games become worse with each iteration. The maximum as well as minimum height have become less now.
Female wrestlers can't fight in hardcore matches nor bleed and even the hair and similar in the character creation gets worse in each new game.

That MyFaction bullshit should've been mentioned. I hadn't bought a WWE game in years. Decided to pony up for the nWo edition of 2K22. The controls sucked, MyFaction paywall is garbage. Didn't bother with 2K23.

We're not complaining about the weapon physics enough and that's why I feel that they have been terrible for over a decade now. I feel like that is ONE thing I care about more than anyone and more than anything else. Make weapons important again.

They really removed the fire in the "INFERNO" match for censorship reasons?!?! That's fucking dumb. That's a shame because other than that, and a couple of other minor things/problems, I really like(d) WWE 2K14. Learning that makes me kind of dislike the game more.
The downgrade of all downgrades was svr 08 gameplay and graphics! The gameplay was sloooowwwwww and so stiffff

i get the hate for wwe 2k15 with how lackluster it was , but i played it on the xbox 360 and i really enjoyed it . the showcase obviously was one of the best in any 2k game and the who got nxt mode to me is very underrated and not talked about at all . kinda glad i didn’t get next gen till 2k18
