Just FYI the r4 tractor tread is the ideal tread pattern for the tire if using and over the tire track. The magnum is more for construction and demolition they are so heavy they are meant to crush everything underneath them. We do make 4 total designs of over the tire tracks each one is better suited for different applications. I think your review was very nice and informative, it was interesting to learn about the clean edge when plowing snow.. Thank you
Thanks for commenting on my video. I did a lot of research on otts before I purchased these. The Bobcat skid steer is pretty helpless on soft ground, which I do a lot of work on, these tracks do an amazing job of turning this machine into a usable tool in sand and mud. I also use the machine to load shot rock from various borrow pits in the area. The sharp rock in the pits cuts tires pretty badly and I wanted tracks that would protect the tires and break-up the rock to compact. These tracks work great for that with one problem, with the tracks installed the machine is 1 inch too wide to load in my dump trailer.
So, a sort of "no experience, but I had a thought and .............." idea: Bolt on, angled to push inward, side width extensions for the bucket. Just something to direct the little extra side snow into the bucket for the full width of the tracks(OK, maybe even a little bit more)? Remove 'em for other tasks where they might be in the way. Just a wild thought from Joe.
Good review. Are the grousers replaceable with maybe studded rubber to give better ice traction. I know I have seen tank tracks with bolt on grousers. Could maybe temporary weld some angled plates outboard on the bucket to push the snow away from the tracks. Just some thoughts. Seems like a neat system if they hold up.
McLaren sells the same track with rubber pads bolted to it. I think I could get the pads and bolt them onto these tracks, but that's mostly for operating on pavement. I used to weld short sections of rebar on the grousers of the dozers for operating on winter, but that can tear up pavement when the packed snow and ice gets thin. Tracks are nice for packing snow, I push snow over a bank across the highway and pack it in hard enough to drive on. I've made roads and parking lots on ground too steep to walk on that a loaded logging truck could drive on or a buss park on with no sign it ever existed after snow melt. Tires with chains seem to work the best for just plowing snow.

Not a bad idea, and considered. Too many other negatives to use the tracks on the snow.
