They have to know that the “colonizing” European DNA is from Spain. They can’t possibly be so stupid that they don’t know the language they speak and the religion their families practice came from Europe.

As a Latino myself, we don’t have the right to judge any other colonizer. Spanish and Portuguese were BRUTAL. They wiped out 99 percent of indigenous populations in Mexico and South America… Forced whatever was left into slavery or Christianity.

Scientists did a study on this. I forget the exact details but they would show a group a bunch of circles and tell the group to find the blue circle. Of course the group would find the circle easily on the first test. So they'd keep repeating the test an making the colors harder to spot. Eventually, the Group would keep finding a "Blue circle" even though there were no blue circles on the board. At this point they were all shades of purple. But the group would be convinced there was a blue circle to find.
The conclusion was; If you cannot find what you are looking for, sometimes our brains will invent it so we "find" the thing we are looking for. If you are looking for racism, you're going to find it eventually. Because your brain will invent a scenario for you to find.

I'm half German, and the rest of me is an amazing mix of various races. One that blew my mind, is that I had a few ancestors who were Punjabi and Gujarati. I also have small amounts of Peruvian, Kenyan, Toscani Italian, Angolan, Congolese, Sri Lankan, and many others. I love having a nice mixture of different races.

He told me they are completely different with some vocabulary and sentence structures over lapping. He told me it made it difficult to master both because of this.

The guy was like “I’m 100% Mexican”, not understanding that the Mexican ethnic background is half indigenous people (possibly Aztec but not necessarily) and half Spanish settlers (from Europe). I dated a girl whose parents were PROUD of their Italian heritage. Everything in their house was all about Italy... Her ancestry test showed that she was 3% Italian... I never laughed so hard.
It is possible that they had a grand parent(s) or great grand parent(s) that moved to Italy and stayed there for most of their life before moving to your country.
They "knew" they were Italian, but they were only culturally Italian.
