  • This video opens a discussion on lower control arms length for a Jeep Comanche with a 4.5” lift kit from Zone Off-Road.
I give the lift kit a 5-STAR review. I recommend to anyone looking to lift their Comanche.
I found that the lower control arms that came with the lift were too short and it threw off the geometry of the suspension.
The lower control arms from a JK series wrangler were use as a ‘I’m gonna try something’ scenario. I think it turned out great!

basically what did with the longer lower control arm was, you increased your positive caster angle, thats why it feels for comfortable driving. i have the same Zone lift on my 96 XJ cherokee, but i went a different route. i installed front control arm drop brackets and adjustable upper control arms. the drop brackets correct the control arm angles, and the adjustable uppers to add caster. stock spec for caster is around +3°-+8°. on a lifted solid axle jeep you want to be on the high side of that +7°-+10° caster.

Thank you for the comment - that makes sense. I bet mine is close to +4-+5* with the different lower control arms.

Hi, I have 86 2.8l cherokee... When you ported to 3.4l, where you able to install mechanical fuel pump on probably camaro engine or ported to electric pump? And are you still using original Rochester carb? Cheers, your channel is interesting for me!

The 3.4 blocks do not have a location for the mechanical fuel pump so an inline was selected. I am running the Rochester. It’s a very good combination in my opinion.
