@@tmcttf8087 They had a contest where people could submit graffiti designs and have them featured in the game, if I remember right.
@@tmcttf8087They held a "graffiti battle" where over 700 different artists entered submissions. I think around 30 pieces were selected to be featured in the final game.
The thumbnail art is also one of those pieces.

@@Xizax41325Actually there was a leak that showed a new jet set radio by sega. It's likely real caused it also contained persona 3 reload footage way before it was announced.

The simple fact they got *Hideki Naganuma* to do the music for this game speaks volumes to my nostalgic heart. I am so excited for this that I become cautiously optimistic.
I've felt so burned by many different companies seemingly capitalizing on nostalgia. I really want this game to be good!

At first, I thought this was just a spiritual successor, but this trailer alone shows its more than that. They're taking the spirit of Jet Set Radio, and running 50 miles with it. I'm beyond hyped for this game, and major props to Team Reptile!
@Jalaharu Apparently, SEGA is jumping on the bandwagon. JSR3 was leaked awhile ago along with Frontiers beta footage and Persona 3 reload.

I'm glad too, too many indie spirtual successors just basically reheat the old experience and I'm not the kind of person that gets too excited by that. This really eels like a game that holds true to JGR/JSRF legacy but isn't afraid to be its own person.
I think the opposite. It just has the visuals. I don't see anything about this trailer that sets it apart from being a JSR clone. Who are these characters, why are they skating, doing graffiti, anything? JSR had the DJ give a rundown of Tokyoto, and it had a Warriors vibe to it. This is all visuals. I don't see any kind of distinction.

I cannot understate how crucial it is that the vocal interjections/shouts are on point, like as a CORE EXPERIENCE of playing too much JSR/F, I'm very excited just to hear these characters just yellin' "HAHAAA" "C'MON!" "YOOO!" just... gonna make my year man.

Hoping to hear the citizens yell at me and freak out as I roll right through them like in JSRF.
One of the rare cases in my life as a gamer where I am ready to pay the game full price as soon as it is released, just to support the initiative of this kind of developers who clearly love what they do.
Don’t worry Team Reptile. You have a dedicated audience who’s been yearning for a JSRF experience such as this! We’re SO thankful!! I know you guys are going to do this justice!

There was a recent dev blog update that basically said "we want to continue making games like this regardless of how well the game sells". Apparently Tean Reptile sees a lot of potential within the niche.

I genuinely can't believe we're so close to this game's release. It's been my most anticipated indie game since last year. As a newfound JSR fan i am overjoyed to be able to play something that faithfully captures everything that makes it so good.

To all the gamers, dreamers and doers out there. This game is going to be a testament just like many others out there that anything is possible and if THEY don't wanna do it for you then do it yourself!
We've been begging SEGA for YEARS for a sequel to jet set radio future and never got one. Now comes the perfect timing where computing power is available, graphics engines are becoming more user friendly and the craving for these types of games are hungrier than ever to influence people to want to make these games. Sunset Overdrive was an echo to let people know we were still here and even than fan made JSRF VR World on VRCHAT was to show what other experiences could be like, even games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 is a testament to how the originals got it right the first time and just need a fresh new coat of paint with today's graphics.

Not sure if I’m the only one, but this was one of the last games from my childhood that never got a proper sequel since. I still can’t believe we’re two weeks away. Been with Team Reptile since the Lethal League and knew they were gonna do Jet Set justice from that very moment. You guys seriously seem like you killed my expectations, so excited to play! I'm a HUGE fan of Hideki Naganuma's music direction for Sonic Rush as I listen to that OST constantly, So I KNOW this game is gonna have some mind blowing tracks. When this game pops up on the eshop the Hype train will truly start for me, and I cannot wait to hear these tracks

Hats off for absolutely NAILING the animations/look of the inline grinds and tricks. Those savannah/unity cess slides, the acid going down the escalators, and all the grab/spin tricks are just *chefs kiss*. I am so unbelievably stoked for this, plus you got Smoe Nova doing the graf, and the soundtrack is on point.

Never played any of the jet set radio games, I’ve wanted to play them ever since I first heard about them, I love the art style of the game and the music and the character designs are awesome as well, hopefully this is the closest thing I’ll get to experience to the real thing and that it ends up being really good.
The games have a lot of good points,but be aware that the controls honestly kind of suck,there's nothing akin to a free skate mode,and all missions are timed(at least in the first)

Just realized how they make the outlines in the game engine - it is stupidly ingenious. dublicate character mesh, thicken, invert normal, backface culling. affordable and easy to recreate in any 3d app.
