Bought this model new in 2006 and the troubles began instantly. 3 years later Husqvarna finally replaced the engine with a 26hp model and admitted there was a flawed breather system which allowed dust and dirt to enter the engine. Suffered through bent push rods several times, dust and dirt in the oil and so on. Automatic drive performed well. And the front wheel assembly is flawed. Rubber bushings were used instead of steel bearings. Can't count the number of times the front wheels popped off. Eventually all this on and off stuff wallowed out the hub on the wheel and had to replace that. Replacement part is now a steel bearing. Lastyear I purchased a Husq. Zero turn and love it. I got rid of this mower a couple months back and bought a 61" Scag Patriot and couldn't be happier. This husqvarna mower and briggs engine were both trash.
Draining the oil is much easier and much much cleaner when you attach the clear plastic hose to that drain plug. Oil flows through the clear vinyl tube into your collection device...waalaa, no mess!

Briggs makes a longer oil filter you can put on your engine. Its long enough to get a strap filter wrench on it.
