    Clear instructions - thanks. I believe this is the simple way to re-use existing speakers with the old connectors, but without going to the expense of a fancy amplifier with multiple ports. That would be for a higher budget speaker. But this is great for me, as I have speakers sitting around unused.

    I am broke and don't want a soundbar. I have an almost 30 year old stereo I used with my old tv that died. Got a cheap new fire tv. But it won't talk to RCA cables. But I found your video. Aha! I now know I can get this device. I will order it, say a prayer and plug in the toslink cable and RCA cables. If it works, I will be one happy girl only out of $13. Those sound bars are hundreds of dollars and I can't get a job right now. Thank you sir for your knowledge and wisdom here.

    • @IAmGizmogeek
      @IAmGizmogeek  Před 3 lety

      Hi... Glad it was helpful. You can connect directly red white cable to red white ports of speaker or use a adapter cable for red white to aux... It depends on what your speaker can take input as. If it has rca input, then you can use that only. And HDMI to RCA is not possible as TV can out put sound in HDMI only with ARC and converters won't have Arc. Hope this clears your doubt.

    • @IAmGizmogeek
      @IAmGizmogeek  Před 3 lety +2

I have to use speaker control to have thr right volume. Like how we do with Computer and speaker, control happens on both pc and speakers differently. But if yours is not at all controlling then it could be the limitation of the convertor. Many convertors don't support it I guess. Then you have to use something like this

      @IAmGizmogeek  Před 2 lety

      @@cneephile Hey... I think you are confused. There can be no Speaker that can support dolby audio over Single aux cable. If you have multiple aux cables for the speaker, then it can provide dolby audio. And another mis conception you have is that Dolby Audio = Dolby Atmos. Absolutely no. They are entirely different. No device can output atmos through anything except hdmi cable. The bandwidth needed can only be provided by hdmi cable, even optical cannot do that.
      So just use the method shown in the video by using optical and be happy with stereo output. If you want to fully utilise the TV's output, you have to buy a Atmos enable speaker. There's no shortcut to that.

      @@peek-a-boom for Optical you need remote... You can buy 3rd party remotes and use them...most IR remotes should work.
      What all can you connect to the Player via HDMi?

    What he doesn’t tell you is he now has no volume control. The tv remote doesn’t turn down the sound bar.
