    Thanks. I am getting the DAC converter because a TV soundbar costs too much. My computer speaker with a subwoofer which take RCA cost much less. I hope it works.

    Thanks for this explanation. I have seen on the net, an all-in-one cables to convert digital audio to analog. My question is, which solution (all-in-one or DAC small boxes) would be better to select in terms of performance.

    A few gotcha's,
    One, your TV remote will probably NOT vary the audio level out when you use remotes volume controls, so you'll need two remotes, one for the TV and one for the sound system.
    Two, plugging in the toslink cable will not shut off your TV's internal speakers, meaning you'll have to remember to leave the TV's volume at zero, and turn up the external amplifier.
    Three, the sound from your external DAC, and the TV's internal sound will most likely NOT be in perfect sync, meaning if you run both you will perceive it as an echo.
    Also, as a side note, if your running an Android TV, they get upset if you use the 3.5mm headphone socket to feed an external amp, in that the TV will think your running headphones and will occasionally turn down the volume thinking it's protecting a headphone wearers hearing. (blame the EU for that silly rule)
    All said and done, a 'HDMI ARC' audio converter maybe a better option, as they promise being able to adjust the volume with the TV's remote. - sorry more research and spending needed to confirm this last bit.

      Great input! And agree about ARC. Plus unless something else comes out, I believe HDMI ARC is going to become the new standard audio cable for home entertainment.

    If the left channel on my TV does not work (no sound, just barely noticable noise) even with the built-in speakers and all of the analog outputs, is there any chance that on the digital output there will be sound with both channels?

    Great video, liked and subbed! May I ask you, would it be safe to go from TV Optical cable to converter then from the converter's headphones socket 3.5mm Jack to 3 PIN XLR L/R into a Crown Amp ?

    • @SimpleCafeE
      @SimpleCafeE  Před měsícem

      I would say no because of the audio level. 3.5mm jack is at the line level and since XLR is at a lower level, it may be too much so yea. Good question, I’m not an expert but yea if say no.

    I dont think its really recommended buying it for 5.1 Surround Channel when its limited to two Channels. you can use it with an vintage amplifier to your TV and have like a full stereo sound. unless such as PS2, DVD and BluRay players has an Toslink for 5.1 Dolby Surround but thats all about it.
    i got an RCA Stereo to Toslink/SPDIF Converter, using for my moms Turntable to plug the Samsung subwoofer in our living room. the subwoofer we had has one Toslink and two HDMI Inputs, ARC and regular HDMI. its kinda recommended to plug as an alternative speakers to Turntables, CD Player or Cassette deck using the converter to TV Subwoofer you already own. Since Music where mostly Stereo. Its not like that it will blows it but it does its job with very decent sound.

    Hi i have an LG TV that isn't bluetooth enabled. The only audio output my TV has is the optical cable one. I wanted to get a bluetooth transmitter but i can't find any bluetooth transmitters that have optical cable input. Can i buy this converter to connect to that bluetooth transmitter? The bluetooth transmitter that i am looking for has an aux cable so i thought ill connect the bluetooth transmitter to my tv through this converter. Then will i be able to connect any bluetooth device (speaker/headphone) to my TV this way?

    My DAC is just like the one you have. However, my father told me that I should have bought a good quality DAC. Should I replace my present tiny DAC with expensive one?

    • @SimpleCafeE
      @SimpleCafeE  Před 3 měsíci

      Hello, yea the DAC'S my channel shows are aimed at filing a gap i.e. making connections in areas where it's not possible due to non-matching ports. Then there's a whole world of DAC's that focus on trying to ensure that you get the best possible sound quality when converting from digital to analog. Consider going with an expensive one not just b/c it may sound better but b/c it will probably last longer than a cheap one too. How much better will it sound? Well that's entering subjective territory, will the difference be big enough to justify the cost? That's up to the buyer.
