  • 2004 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide Fork Oil Change- Super Easy! | Techn' Moto
Hey I came up with a new way to change the fork oil on my Harley Electra Glide Ultra Classic. Especially for the left side fork which is a cartridge and can't be filled from the top. Check out how I do it, it really does make the job a lot easier.
    PJ1 Fork Oil- amzn.to/2uVoaSE
    I use a 60ml/2oz syringe- amzn.to/3t5PNqi
    Adapter- amzn.to/300ORlM

After filling the left fork, install the upper cap before trying to install the drain screw. That creates an 'air lock' which will reduce how much oil comes out when removing the filler hose to install the drain screw.

I bought a book about 20 years ago on maintenance tricks for Harleys that were used by techs and one is fork oil if you have an air suspension drain the forks remove the Schrader valve from the stem take a screw the same size as your drain screw and drill a hole in the center put piece of tubing over it and screw it into one fork leg and put the drain screw back in the other leg now with a brake type vacuum pump pull a vacuum where you took the Schrader valve out and use the drain screw with the tube on it to suck up the fork oil

Great video. Thanks. There's some ingenuity here. Question: on the left fork, would it be easier to screw the drain screw back in if you replaced the cap after filling it from below, but before removing the hose adapter? Thinking with less air coming in from the top it would be less likely to drain below....
