I love buying random collections like this. Especially if they're NM to light played condition cards even with some heavy played. It's still nice to get a bunch of older cards for cheap.
Where would you find such random collections? Garage sales?
@@giampaolofini1535 I've found collection's at garage sales, church sales and local auctions. I've had my best luck during town wide yard sales. Everyone trying to clean out their houses and make some money.
Yep. I've been slowly buying as many alpha unholy strengths as I can. Lightly played is where its at IMO.
I think when you're done with it all you should just set your collection on fire and up the value of everybody else's
this would cause a spike in prices in the remaining cards of such epic proportions it could destabilize the entire global financial system and pop the secular bond bubble thereby creating a new dark age of a few generations until we recover

Huh, sad to see those played cards go into the Rudy Vault. At that condition they should remain for the players to be played with -- my opinion. (We) collectors should just take NM/Mint/high-graded cards, these played "well-loved ones" should stay in the field of players.
All that bulk stuff with no financial value will probably be put into a box and collect dust in the corner of the 3rd floor basement

I mean he could spend 2 hours creating a script with actual information and be 100% correct by combing MTGDawnFlare but then he will be inhuman and mechanical but people forget this is more of a blogging channel not a actual news source with 100% checking facts. I know people get confused because news sources do not check their facts (or they create facts on certain statistics) WHICH they should which can easily confuse people.

I personally love the aesthetic of naturally aged and heavy played beta’s antiquities etc.. I know the pack fresh mints are insane but I love them in anything other than badly damaged. They just look cool and trigger the nostalgia big time.

Discovered yesterday that my young brother essentially robbed my collection of all its value cards (beta/unlimited/Tempest/antiquities cards and rare cards from Urza's block era) that he probably sale years ago for some cheap bucks.
I thought I had some value in here, but it's essentially a few thousands valueless common & unco now.
I pride myself to take care of my stuff and preserve it. But I couldn't protect it from my siblings.

Rudy, how much does a FOIL MP Covetous Dragons from Urza's Destiny go for? I understand the Urza's stuff was the introduction of foils and didn't follow current allocation patterns. Hard to discern the actual value on them though.
11 foil listings on TCG. 1 MP foil at $150 and then NM foils for $400.

Someeconomists once said if the Great Depression had never swept over the earth so so long ago...that even by the mid to late 2000s, in theory the minimum wage in most of the United States of America alone, would have been about $24 an hour because of cost of living increases and possible economic bubbles and surpluses( also if we never went to war in the middle east and elsewhere). Now even though some places have $15 an hour, that is still a bit short of what people need; maybe $20 would be closer to what would help, but even then that number is just shy of enough for people to actually live somewhat well enough. The point is, Rudy always makes a good point, because even when I was in High School 20 years ago and got my first job, I was making $6.75 an hour at an arcade. And its ironic because theres some places in USA where the minimum wage is not even 8 or 9 dollars an hour. And considering what I know about payments for various professions from throughout the last couple hundred years, to even ancient Rome according to history...people are going to be trying harder and harder to make ends meet in the coming future. Save what you can, make what you can. The dystopian future long forwarned about by so many is still very much a real possibility. Peace

Rudy, you mention foreign cards as being only a % of the English version. This is not the case for playable or Reserve List Black Border Revised & 4th Edition.
Foreign BB Revised (especially German) are higher $ than English. Korean (& sometimes Japanese) foreign BB 4th Edition are worth way more than their 4th edition English counterparts due to their rarity, especially Korean.
Then moving into the early era of foils, Japanese Foils tend to be more than more than English foils for sets like Urza's D/L. Another example is that Japanese original Dark Depths are 2x the price of English, etc.
Those Japanese 4th BB Lightning Bolt you passed by are $40-45 for instance.
Definitely a huge market for certain foreign cards, so generalizing them as worth less is very misleading.

ARN, Legends and AQ cards are still WAAAAY underpriced. The fact that you can still find Legends uncommons (59k print run) for $5-$8 NM blows my mind. Rudy is right, give it time and cards from these older sets will be the "tobacco-WWII era" baseball card museum pieces" of TCGs.
