Well, I have a part 2 video where they sent me another new one & it leaked right out of the box. I recorded it from the box onto the truck & it leaked. BakFlip is cheap garbage that leaks & they won't give you your money back. They just keep sending leaky covers.

Dude I just couldn't believe it. BakFlip wrote an email to me saying, "Its not suppose to be 100% water tight nor is it advertised as 100% water tight". 👍😂👍. They're garbage man. Didn't give me my money back. Just sent me another one. Thank you so much for watching CJ!

I went from a snug top hard insulated fiberglass tonneau cover on my old 05 tacoma and you couldn’t get water in the truck bed no matter how hard you or the weather tried. I now have a ‘21 tacoma and thought it would be wise to get one of these newer style bakflip mx4 folders. Appearance wise, I absolutely love it. Functionality in regards to being able to maximize the bed if needed is also great compared to the fiber glass snug top that hydraulics up to a 45 angle. Although, the unfortunate part is the bakflip mx4 just does not do a good job of keeping water or even dew out. I used to use my truck bed as safe dry storage for all my gear. Unfortunately, not if it’s going to rain I have to take everything water sensitive out of my truck bed and lug it inside. It’s a real bummer to be honest, although I’m not putting the old style tonneau cover on my brand new truck. Just doesn’t feel right. Do with this info as you please.
BakFlip has really let me down. They won't even give me money back. They just keep sending me cheap leaking covers that leak right out of the box. 😭

I still got the leaky BakFlip on there. I just keep all important stuff in the truck cab. Don't get a BakFlip. My co-workers $250 bed cover never leaks. BakFlip is $800 or more.

I installed an mx4 back flip, it leaked slightly at first, but after a few days in the sun sealed up nicely

Bought my truck used & it came w/the cover on it already & it leaks like SOB. Had to throw out my folding chair cuz of mold, boxes of tape that just got destroyed, several tools that I thought would be safe from the elements & some other stuff as well. I can't return mine though cuz it came w/my truck already but I still have to keep my tools & stuff back there. My bed is crazy wet. It rains quite a bit in PNW. Mine also bows on the first panel & collects water. Definitely won't be getting another Bakflip especially after seeing how yours came out of the box!!

All they had to do was send me my $800 back & the videos would go away. But, I guess the world watching their product fail 2 times right out of the box wasn't worth $800. BakFlip is cheap & they leak.
I have a Chevy Colorado and it came with a segmented cover installed. I don't know what brand it is but it leaks. I was hoping to be able to safely haul some Guitars and and amplifier in the bed when my brothers in law and I go places to play music. Can't risk it and I wonder what cover won't leak so I can waterproof the truck bed in the future.
I'm not sure what cover is a good one but it certainly isn't BakFlip. I've had all kinds of tools ruined due to BakFlip covers leaking. 😭
I have one on a 2004 Tacoma, was on it when I bought the truck used in 2015, great concept but mine has always had small leaks (did not worry as I don't keep $$ stuff in the bed all the time) but it is annoying you have to put a tarp over stuff in the bed if raining hard and traveling for hours and you want it to stay dry, I mean what's the point of the cover if it leaks right? So mine is going on least 8-10 yrs old, outer surface got beat to hell by a hailstorm so all pockmarked now, years of sun has dry rotted the seals and rubber hinges so leaks even more than 5 yrs ago, the tailgate and middle latch bars have come off the underside of the panels, basically the screws holding them in rusted into nothing and the adhesive caulk/glue they use to attach the bar to the panel also dried up so won't help hold the bar to the panel. Maybe after 8-10yrs those failures are ok and that is an acceptable product life but definitely makes me think twice about buying another. Seems like a few small design/material changes that probably have no impact on the cost would do much to improve its quality and product life.

So, they kept sending new ones that leaked right out of the box. 😆 My coworkers $200 cover never leaks. Even went through a few hurricanes. Bakflip is $800 and my tailgate was a swimming pool afterwards.

I found the piece of flap/gasket at the end of the rail towards the cab is meant to be a 'stop end' for the gutter....well it wasn't and that where it was leaking like a sieve!

I live in Michigan where we have snow and rain, had issue with the first one and they sent me a second one, it started to retain water and sag, the warranty was over and they would not replace it for a second time. I paid $900 for mine. Very disappointed.

The G2 model. Cheap, cheap, cheap. And BakFlip wont give me my $800 back. I even told them I'd delete these videos of their product failing right out of the box if they'd refund my money. They said "nope". So, I guess $800 to them is worth the whole world watching their product fail right out of the box. I still got it on my truck and its still leaking. I had to move all important stuff into the cab & keep everything else in big Tupperware bins so they dont get soaked.

Bought a Gator tonneau cover (branded Bakflip) last fall, leaked. Submitted a warranty claim unfortunately past the return date. Recently sent a new cover only, no rails, that one leaks worse than the first one. After crawling around the bed liner to take pictures for customer service I noticed one of the rails was badly bent, must of missed it in my excitement to install. Needless to say the leaking is on both sides, not only the damaged rail. Disappointed that I paid $800 for something that cannot keep the slightest amount of water out of the bed. Run away!!

I got this same cover on my tacoma and just got my 2nd Friday. Rubber trim cut crooked on both by tailgate and coming off in one spot. Bakflip rep told me they are not advertised as waterproof and should expect some water to get in. Waste of money
Yep! They said the same to me. BakFlip is a cheap product & a ripoff. My co-worker has a $200 bed cover & it never leaks. BakFlip runs around $800 to $1,000 for a piece of garbage. Stay away from BakFlip people!
My G2 arrives tomorrow. Think I am going to remove those screws and use silicone sealant on them to seal them up.

@@LexVance So I I got my G2 on and the screws you mention are no longer on. The prop rod holders are now clips. they just clip onto the rail instead on screwing on. So no leaks. I love it.
Bought mine a couple of years ago, it’s been great. But obviously they’ve gotten slack in their quality control. Mine looked nothing like that when I received it. Buddy of mine bought one shortly after I got mine, has had good luck with it as well. Hopefully this video will wake them the hell up.

Lex Vance actually they called me at the beginning of the season but when I went by everything was working perfect and I haven't heard back. It seemed like either a thermostat or low voltage issue but the pressure was still spot on! If they get a couple years out of that I think they got their money worth even though people say it was dumb to fix it!

Yea, they sent everything in one box. 3 new ones. And all 3 of them leaked right out of the box. BakFlip covers are cheap and they leak.
Water must remain on top and the only part that have hole on the middle surface is the hinges. I'm gonna try to make them apart and add some euretane. It should not leak by any points in the middle unless you make a hole on the surface layer.

Lex, try to get you money back or at least some of it. I had an ATC truck cover installed with all the bells and whistles and the paint faded on top after 13 months. Total cost of over 1000.00. They said wrrnty 1 yr. They would not honor it or replace it or repaint it. ATC sucks. Get your money back Lex.

Backflip is by far the worst folding cover. Had two myself and both leaked and fit snd finish was terrible. The leer is best folding covet
