I’m a bigger fan of Pete than I am of Ariana, but tbh I didn’t think they were a good match. Their fandoms didn’t match up, Ariana fans don’t really appreciate his *VERY DARK* very unapologetic humor, and Pete fans were mad that Ariana fans were getting constantly ‘triggered’. All this backlash would obviously stress any relationship. Plus, I feel like they just weren’t a good match, like I said before, Pete is a very dark person who really doesn’t give shit if someone gets offended because of his jokes, Ariana is more thoughtful in that perspective, not to mention the fact that their ideals never really seemed to match up. Overall they seem to be better either staying as friends or just not interacting at all.

i think it’s really weird to see ariana grande go thru some of the stuff i went thru w my ex gf. obviously there are differences between us but it’s weird because my ex and i both moved really fast, lasted less than a year, got together when in a bad time, and both my ex and pete had bpd. i loved my ex for quite some time but we both were so close and fast moving we’d get into many fights and with my ex’s moodswings and my sensitive soul it was hard to not be upset. i do think a part of it (being ariana & pete’s breakup) was mac millers death but i feel a majority of it all was the fast pace and when they did get together- in a time of need. you can act very different when in pain over something.
but i want to say it’s their own breakup and their own story. my ex & i realized our own immaturities a long time ago and decided to settle that we learned from eachother (which is extremely funny bc thank u, next almost seemed like the love song to experiences in relationships). i feel ariana is a very confident, beautiful woman and i love that, she’ll always hold a large place in my heart because she was part of how i found out i am gay way back in 2015.

They got together just a few weeks after they ended their previous (and reportedly toxic) relationships; Pete was dating Cazzie and Ariana was dating Mac Miller. As a result, Ariana and Pete never gave themselves the opportunity to heal from the emotional distress that comes with breaking up with a long term partner and jumped straight into the rebound with each other. Though there were clearly other factors involved, I do believe that Mac's passing was one of the main contributing factors to their break ups - Ariana must have gotten a wake up call that her love for Mac was still very fresh and that she needed to get over him and heal first before committing to someone else. In my opinion, what they thought was love was rushed infatuation. I hope they heal and find happiness. They are troubled souls who deserve all the peace in the world.
