The real winner of the Toronto Maple Leafs this playoffs is the media training guy. He’s done a fantastic job of training all of these players to all answer the exact same questions with the same answers.

Getting riled up could lead to change on some level, and who wants that? The Leafs are the second-most valuable NHL franchise despite nothing to show since 1967; just keep pumping out that money, look bored and get the golf clubs ready. The people who are slavishly devoted to this club don't deserve, and won't get, anything better, and their insane level of support for complete and chronic non performance is now the single biggest problem... but the fans won't admit it, because that could lead to necessary changes too.
Why should they give the media anything? They just turn around and shit on them and exaggerate every single little thing. As much as these guys are pro athletes, having the local media shit on everything you do has to wear you down. They are the only team in the league that doesn't have their own team broadcast, pretty pathetic.

Real sports reporting is all about who did what, not who said what; it's not about prognostications and postmortems. This is all just grist for the mill to keep everyone in a job. Here, you also have the very real added problem of nothing to talk about anyway.

What is the practical use of talking here except to bring down fan expectations so that players aren't assaulted in the street? Then again, the idea that the financial success of this franchise somehow needs to be performance based has long been an alien concept in Toronto with both management and fans, and it will stay that way.

There is no way that you can say that in games 2 and 3 there is a lot to like about the power play. Have the decency to call it what it is.. 1 / 14 is just simply not good enough. They have generated little to no pressure in the offensive zone, not enough ozone time on the PP, and a general lack of consistent effort. Will there be no altercations to the special teams?
That’s the problem even if they’re doing well , they shud think we’re not scoring so we aren’t doing well ! It’s a mentality!

Normally he doesn't, but he's had a better season as a captain, and he isn't afraid to go against the boards and mix it up.

This series could still go either way. The Bruins look like nothing special and could very easily lose three in a row if the Leafs play to the level they are capable of. That being said they basically have to do the opposite of everything they did in game 4 and I have zero faith this coach knows how to effectively utilize or deploy the team or is even aware of what it takes for them to be good. This is a team with zero direction or incredibly bad direction and I cannot believe this man is still coach.

@@phils6733 he doesn't know how to coach in the NHL it's just not as much of an issue in the regular season when the stars can more easily win games themselves regardless of bad coaching. He's a good player development coach and would be an asset to any AHL team,he has no business behind an NHL bench and never has. Hiring him was one of Dubas big mistakes and should have gotten both fired much earlier
