Buying watches is stressful enough but where do you get good watch straps to go with your favourite watch?
I recently bought several watch straps for my watch collection which includes cheap watches, decent budget friendly watches and some expensive watches.
N.B. Addiesdive AD2048 and Proxima PX1716 are featured here :)
I really had to shop around for those watch straps BUT, in the end, one strap
stood out to me and I've worn it non-stop.
So when the store owner reached out for a review it was an instant yes from me. In all he sent 5 different watch straps to add to the first one.
This is my review of watch straps from The Thrifty Gentleman store.
They include vintage style leather watch straps, oiled Italian leather watch straps, Sailcloth watchstraps and a nylon military style watch band.

It’s rare that I am greatly surprised, but the inexpensive prices of these straps PLUS the discount caught me by surprise. I was having crap morning at work, but I watched this video during my lunch and that grumpy photo of Molly literally made me laugh out loud. 😺
Haha. I wasn't laughing! She is shedding her winter coat and needs brushed twice a day but she still has knots so I tried to get one out...bad move 😞!

I definitely underestimated how popular these straps would be following John’s video - especially the vintage leather strap.
So much so that we’ve already run out of stock of the light brown and red brown 20mm options!
Fear not though! We’ve been working with manufacturing this weekend and they will be back in stock in the next couple of weeks.
We’re also manufacturing a lot more than we normally do to make sure we can handle the increased demand!

I have purchased a few tropic and natos from TTG. The military nato could have been a tad longer for my taste. But great price and free postage, cant go wrong.

I love it. I just purchased a Glycine Combat Sub with a bracelet and coke Bezel. This would look great on that. I've got the nervous buyers' feelings because it wasn't cheap in my book. Haha, but I'm still looking for the next thing.

And Jonathan and his company will, great looking straps and at a very affordable price, I will be going through his inventory and doing so order over the weekend, and credit to you as well, not many do shows on straps (need more) and if you generally see a highlighted strap it's usually a very expensive one from far away. I wish folks would do more strap reviews, I'm personally partial to Watchgeckos mystery bundles, they do 2 diff ones an all military and a mix, incredible value.

Think I'll be purchasing a few of these over the weekend. Would really like a couple of good but reasonably priced straps for my 19mm lug width watches so if that's a possibility in future I'd be all over them.
Thanks for the feedback! We’re still a small growing business which is why we’re currently focusing on the more standard lug width straps at the moment, but don’t worry 19mm and 21mm straps are on our roadmap for the future!
I ordered few straps of Ali recently not sure why the big buckle is such a thing at the moment 2 went straight on eBay as the listing was not what I received.

Hi John I would love to get my hands on an all brushed oyster style bracelet with on the fly adjustment. Is there anywhere you would recommend buying one from? I doubt they would be quick release though?
Sorry not something I am aware of but WatchGecko have a great range of bracelets that regularly go on sale. You can pick up fantastic bracelets for £40 in those sales...but not with OTF 😔

These look to represent great value for money, but I have one niggling doubt: the photos of some of the leather straps on their website seem to show each half of a pair with different shades of colour. Is this actually the case, do you know? I suspect it's just the photo but as I say - niggling doubt!
As with any photos it will be to do with the photos perspective. As simple as one being piece being behind another will change the shade.

Just received three watch straps. The single pass NATO and the marine straps are fine, for the money, even good. The leather looks very good, time will tell. But you should be hung out to dry for the thinest springbars I have ever seen. They literally fold with the slightest amouth of pressure. The idea that you would send them out and people might use them on their watches is criminal.
Leave Jonathan your feedback. You are the only one to mention this. Even the straps I got were fine however I never use spring-bars provided with straps and always upgrade them as part of my routine. I think others do the same :) Remember I am not the supplier so don't make out that I am please.
