      Simple answer is his love for Leia.
      Longer answer is his Corrielian upbringing and respect for military training and protocal. Its easy to forget Solo was a highly trained Imperial graduate who abandoned the Empire to become a smuggler. His moral compass may not be as clearly directed as the Jedi or the Rebellion, but Han Solo is fundamentally a good guy, Scoundrel or not. He only gets into trouble with Imperials, Hutts and other Smugglers. You never see him cheat or swindle the good guys (with the slight exception of Yavin)
      There is an interesting passage in "The last command" (Thrawn trilogy) where Talon Karrde compares his growing involvement with the new republic directly to Solo and his involvement with the rebellion. I cant remember it verbatim and its not a direct answer to the question but a solid look at the same topic if your interested.

      @@langleymneely I assumed he left the death star battle to pay Jabba after the rebels paid him.
      Then decided not too and came back out of guilt or love for the princess.
      And thats why Jabba had him frozen in the next movie.
      And that helps us feel bad for Han because we saw that he wanted to leave and pay Jabba back but didn't get round to it for the sake of the rebellion, and that sets up the third movie.
      This was re-enforced with the extra scene in the 1996 remaster where Han meets Jabba before leaving with Luke and Kenobi for Alderaan.

    • @keytostart7053
      @keytostart7053 Před 3 lety +3

      They are from Dathomir. They're born force sensitive. On Dathomir the females of the species have more power as the mothers of the land - the females of Dathomir ARE the Nightsisters. The Males are often kept purely for breeding or sent into the world to spread the word of the Nightsisters. They have more of a traditional culture and practise a shamanistic form of "witchcraft" to manipulate the force, which they believe is an alternate plane of existence that overlaps reality - and to them it represents the afterlife. They, the nightsisters belive they are the sole beings who can commune between the two planes. They follow fundamentally Dark Side principles being fascinated with Death and Decay.

    Q&A question: Do you think we will ever see the conflict of droid rights and freedom from slavery become the focal point of a Star Wars film series or live action show? To me the next great galactic conflict in Star Wars (post Ep9) could or should involve the idea of droids fighting for their independence. Its a real world allegory in need of addressing I think.

    • @MatthewHop
      @MatthewHop Před 3 lety +1

      Droids only operate within their programming like it says in the mandalorian. They can’t have freedom because they don’t have agency. It depends on what type of freedom you’re talking about though because they can take off their inhibitors which gives them more ability to operate within their programming.

Its a classic real world allegory that is ripe for Star Wars to depict. Plus its been an undercurrent of almost every film or tv show so far. Im just surprised we haven’t seen anything done with it on a major scale.

    Regarding the Exar Kun question, I read the series more recently, and it is addressed. Essentially, ya know when you ALMOST wake up, but then you fall back asleep? That’s what essentially happened with Exar Kun’s spirit when Luke was on Yavin in ANH. Years later, when he returned far more powerful, and thus having a much more potent Force presence, he also arrived with some students of the Force, then later brought more students to his Jedi Praxeum. This increased presence in The Force is what woke Exar Kun’s spirit for good, and of course caused the chain of events we know from that series. IF Kun had woken up in ANH and tried to reach out to Luke, given how brief Luke was there, nothing really would have happened. Kun’s influence was an over-time kind of thing.

    Timothy Zhan's original idea for the Clone Wars before the prequels was a handful of Jedi vs an army of unlimited number of clones created by a madman. It was a really cool idea and I'd love to see it happen in like the Old Republic era. It would explain why Kamino was deleted from the archive memories because that was part of their punishment after the war, to be isolated and unable to clone for anyone again. It would also explain that line about the Kaminoans cloning armies before and how they are indifferent to who they clone for and to the death of the Jedi

    I like the idea that Yoda wasn’t ready. That maybe Obi Wan, after telling Luke to run, immediately goes to Yoda to tell him that he’s died and Luke needs a teacher and that starts a 3 year debate between Obi Wan and Yoda. Yoda see Luke through the force growing in knowledge though his own study and Yoda begins to cave and Obi Wan then feels it is a good time.
    I also always assumed that Obi Wan showing up in Empire to Luke was because, 1) Luke was near death on Hoth and 2) Luke was on Dagobah where it was a force Nexus.

    They like to keep to themselves.
    Though you might think you now know quite a bit about the cloning community, Kaminoans are actually an incredibly private species. If it weren’t for their high-tech ingenuity, they’d prefer to stay out of most issues involving other galactic territories. Many people wonder why the Kaminoans would have went along with creating the clone army for the Sith. Or why they never questioned adding a bio-chip to their clones’ brains, allowing Order 66 to become a reality. To put it frankly, the Kaminoans don’t really care either way. They are skilled scientists that make money for their planet through the production of clones. It doesn’t matter much to them who they will be given to or for what purpose they will be used. They’re a no-questions-asked kind of civilization made up of people with very little personality or strong opinion."

    Rather than Padme losing the will to live, my 'head-canon' sort of says that Palpatine was drawing on the Force to extract Padme's life force to extend Vader's during his transformation.
    In a way, as Vader says "I would have felt it" when Palpatine tells him that he killed her in his anger, she lives in him, hence why he didn't feel her die.
    From the perspective of the medics and their tech and Bail, Kenobi and Yoda, it would probably look like she lost the will to live due to the knowledge she learnt of Anakin killing younglings and his turn to the dark side, as well the events she experienced on Mustafar.

    As some have said, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Studios are co-developing a film adaptation of the novel Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi. It is the first book in a planned trilogy called The Legacy of Orisha; the second book came out last year.
    Personally, I enjoyed the first book a lot, but found the second book a little underwhelming. There are very obvious parallels between Adeyemi's story and Avatar: The Last Airbender; she has cited it as one of her core influences, and it really wears it on its sleeve. But the world of Orisha has a lot of potential. I could see a film series being pretty special in the right hands.

      @@BlindJedi Wel as far as i can tell the creature the son shifts into has not been given any spieces if it`s a existing spieces at all so he could be a Symeong. Also the son and the grand inquisitor kinda look alike sure but they both animated, if you look for example too the Pykes they look wildly different form animated to the big screen, so for those too to be both Symeong is not a big leap imo.

He mentions becoming Dooku's new apprentice, so would he have joined forces with Dooku to defeat Sidious? Would he have replaced Dooku as Sidious' apprentice? Would he have been sidelined until Order 66 and become an Inquisitor? Krell is just one of those interesting characters that it's kind of a shame to lose him so quickly after his introduction.

    Are we sure that's how the whole "Luke cuts himself off from the force" thing works? Rey can't feel him in the force but like an hour later he uses the force to stop his fall during their fight and then uses the ultimate force projection ability. Even before that it seems like he's using the force when he perfectly travels over that chasm with his long spear pole thing and knows that Rey's mind went into the dark place as she was meditating- wouldn't he have to be using the force to know that? Cutting yourself off from the force seems like something more symbolic where you just chose not to use it, like Cere did in Jedi Fallen Order.

    1. Re: Bail Organa & Ahsoka: I agree with Alex that Bail wouldn't tell anyone unless they needed to know. Ahsoka doesn't need to know even though he trusts her. It's pretty much confirmed in the Ahsoka novel.
    ** Spoiler for Ahsoka novel:**
    One year after ROTS, Bail meets Ahsoka and wonders if she knew about the pregnancy. He tests her. She senses the test but of course doesn't know what he is referring to. He's happy that she doesn't know but continues to build rebellion with her.
    2. Re: New Lucasfilm franchises: They bought the rights to the book series The Children of Blood and Bone. It's already in development. It's supposed to be directed by Rick Famuyiwa. He's directed an episode of The Mandalorian and cameod in it.
