- Roger Waters, speaking on behalf of the Russell Tribunal, delivers a very nicely put speech in front of delegates on International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. This day also marks an important development in the Palestinians' bid to statehood as they are now recognized as a non-member observer state. Hopefully the world sees both sides of the story and that both conflicting parties go into negotiations towards a two-state peaceful solution and put an end this long and dragged out conflict. Enough is enough!

Thank you Roger Waters. UN has declared 2014 is the year of solidarity for palestinian people. Jewish Voice for Peace and BDS are also working hard to make Israel's war crimes and Apartheid stop. Israel has to understand its racist et colonialist behaviour won't be tolerated anymore. Enough of this horrible illegal politics.

This is the 4th time I've watched this. And still my breath is taken away. So brilliantly said, articulate, and with words that are accessable and understandable to all, whatever your knowledge on this subject is. Loved this mans music, and now, in my 50's it gives me enormous joy to see we werent just aligned in that. Wonderful speech, wonderful man. Bravo!

I like roger waters as a musician but I love him more as a person. He's a good person, and that's more important than being an accomplished songwriter.

I pulled this speech up again today nearly 2 years after the General Assembly granted Observer Status to the Palestinians despite intense pressure by the US & Israel. While few Americans other than the boots on the ground ever experience the reality of this popular slogan "Freedom is Not Free" every person living in Gaza knows that reality after so many vicious Israeli attacks. Consider this fact every 8 year old child in Gaza has already lived through 4 Israeli military campaigns and the majority opinion in Israeli society is calling for another one to "Finish the Job".
I wish many artists and celebrities voice out like Roger does. love from the usa.
I have a friend that lives in Israel and is tired and scared of the conflict. He lives near the Gaza strip and gets bombarded by missiles almost every night. I thank you Roger for finally speaking out ageist the lies and war crimes these countries commit. I hope they will change in the near future.

He sent me the photo, because, I wrote him a letter not only thanking him for his contribution to music, but also emphasizing the fact that it is sad, that he has not been recognized by our Kingdom, by means of a Knighthood. Just like other Musicians.
