This episode goes out to all my peeps who don’t have access to a grill, but long to enjoy the glory of peak corn season. The corn cobs get a deep char in just 15 minutes from a cast iron skillet which achieves a crispy on the outside, juicy and popping on the inside kernel, and then immediately gets slathered in a sesame Sambal butter. You can enjoy all of this and more from the comfort of your own home, no grill necessary. Corn cheers!

She was totally born to do this. Bon appetit CZcams era was the best thing that could’ve happened to her. Although she could’ve gone straight up to CZcams too but working at Bon appetit first gave her more credibility.

As an Irish person I gotta give credit to Kerrygold for their marketing campaign. No doubt they have a great product but all of our real Irish butters are of this quality and largely only differ according to the salt content. It's a great success story but this butter is the norm for us because our cows graze for most of the year on grass not grain. They're out in the fields until it becomes to cold for them.

I am one of those people with no yard and no grill so I'm very excited for this recipe. I also recently bought my first jar of sambal. I am going to head to the farmer's market and then come home and make this.

I discovered sambal when I was living in Singapore and it's one of those things that once you try it, you will never forget its taste. Such an amazing umami bomb, goes perfectly with steamed rice and chicken (nasi lemak). I never thought of trying it on corn, but I can totally see it working.

I always hear the skillet should be "ripping hot" but then Molly puts corn in and it's not even sizzling. When I do the ripping hot thing it just instantly vaporizes like a 1/4 inch off of whatever I put in there, regardless of the oil situation. Is ripping like 300-400 degrees? What am I doing wrong? Do people just say ripping so they don't have to specify a temp? Ripping is just anything but eggs?

It will have a totally different vibe, but I just made a Japanese grilled corn that was rolled in 50/50 soy sauce melted butter mix and it was definitely greater than the sum of its parts. Aleppo pepper butter with minced dill and a drizzle of pomegranate molasses is also super great.

Seriously, I love me some Molly, but the last few videos were more miss than hit with the recipes (or lack thereof). The ribs were questionable, the Chicken Caesar was interesting for sure but this .. and popcorn?
I mean its great to add to your overall collection of videos, but I hope you will consider going for actual meal recipes some more.
That said, Kerrygold is a perfectly fine replacement for when you can't find local organic butter, as I've noticed its available in a lot of places, even in smaller stores.
