- After many weeks of bad winter weather we finally had a fine, relatively calm day on Sunday and Airline Pilot Ash made us all look very bad with his precision flying and "greaser" landings. He's banned! :-) The featured small channel this time is Nicholas Rehm's very interesting VTOL stuff. Check it out:

Loving the shout out idea! His VTOL F-35 Parkjet is at the top of my build list when he releases plans. Subscribed. Willing to pay for those plans. Guys like you and he make me feel stupid. I know I'm not stupid but I'm not as bright as you or Nicholas! I almost face palmed myself when I saw he'd mounted the motors on the ailerons. Brilliant in its simplicity.

Trick flying at 8:58 from RC, nice planes nice contrasting clouds some nice flying. "No one likes a show off" quote of show. "Normally they come off at the last landing of day". Nice camera work

Fixed wing is a much more delicate dance, all of it is fun and I still have a lot of my planes even though I fly quads mostly now.

Not even watched it all yet but know it'll be great. Love the fact I can sit back and watch, no need to get up to skip anything. Actually considering a move to new Zealand from the UK. Keeping a close eye on your flying laws etc. Top man!

My Dad would have loved to have got into the petrol engine model aircraft, being an engine tinkerer, he would have spent many hours modifying a motorbike engine to go into some aircraft (he was a mad scientist type of guy when it came to engines!) alas, he passed away 2 years ago, miss you dad.
I love a good rant and I don't mind learning a thing or two but there is nothing like a few buddies getting together for a few flights and a few laughs. Enjoyed!

17:54...I have a Lexus hybrid with a ridiculously small 12v service battery, if that goes flat you cannot switch on the high voltage system or start the engine. After getting caught out a couple of times I now carry a small 3s lipo to “jump start” it with. Works perfectly but don’t keep it in the boot as the boot release is also electric so the chances are you can’t get in. Ask me how I know.

Yep, I'd love to do more but we've had a succession of really crappy weekends weather-wise (well it *is* winter down here) and this coming weekend is also predicted to be wet and windy :-(

Glad you folks got some nice weather. At least your winters aren't quite as harsh as here in the Northeastern US... I'll be thinking of you in 6 months when we're up to our touche in snow with 40mph winds and 0F temps. Then you guys will be out several times a week, and I'll be counting the months till the ice melts. At least I get to watch you fly during our annual Ice age.
It’s been bloody wet here. I live about 3.5 hours drive south from Bruce. Weekend was first fine weather in a long time. I was so damn worn out from work I slept all afternoon on both Saturday and Sunday

Best RCT video I’ve seen from Stateside involved a valley and a bunch of good ole boys with all manner of guns, everything from colts to oerlikon GDF anti aircraft guns, great combo of hobbies.....I wonder what the CAA would say about that!

Bruce: For years more than 25 I have rigged up a Paint Ball Gun DOT sight on a plate secured to the bottom of my video cameras. I Zoom to infinity and focus on a distant object (set Focus to manual) and check that the DOT sight lines up with the center of the video screen. Then when shooting fast aircraft (Or any for that mater) I don't have to look thru the camers or at the screen I just keep the DOT sight on or infront of the plane with my right eye and watch where the plane is going with both eyes. Much better than trying to follow a plane with the camera screen or view finder OH the Paint ball DOT Sight cost me $16 USD 25 or 30 years ago. you have to be sure it has a bright enough RED DOT that it can be seen aginst a bright sky. If interested I'll send Pics.

@@stephaniekent8483 It really works for following R/C planes because you keep both eyes open watching where the playn is most likeky going to go, not reacting to where it is. Believe it even keeps the plane in the frame where it belongs. Example you always want space out in fron of the plane so the viewer sees where the plane is going but when they turn on the smoke you more or less follow the plane and make the smoke the hilite of the video.
I do wonder what printer he used. I'm looking to replace a sketchy one.
I try the ZETA with two hobby king 50 mm aluminum turbine 10 blades launch with hand is tricky ,try weels on it better but is life time was less than 15 flights.

I bought a Lite Machines 117 nitro heli for a steal price at a garage sale. It has Hitec servos and Laser 4 radio. I had to free up the throttle and the clutch. Everything seems to be working. I not sure if this bird has ever flown. Any tips on getting the Norvel .074 running?
Make sure that you use a fuel with at least *some* castor oil with the Norvel. Whatever you do, don't use an electric starter and make sure you don't get hydraulic lock because those little engines break easy if you do that :-) Otherwise they're great. I had a Norvel 061 with RC carb and loved that engine.
@@xjet This one doesn't have a carb as such. Speed is controlled via a sliding pin blocking off the exhaust.

I clicked the three dots to report it as spam scam but the only choice / option given was titled WHY THIS AD? and clicking through just tells you why the ad is shown based on interest and time of day etc but NOTHING about reporting it.
So youtube are now removing the report function of the scam adverts they're hosting and airing?

@@3DMOFO2020 Yep. The original SuperEZ had a different motor to the later versions and (IMHO) was much better. The version 2 SuperEZ motors tend to desync on 4S for some reason.

We've had no community transmission of CV19 for about 2 months now I think and our death toll was much lower than most other countries, even on a per-capita basis. Without any community transmission we no longer have any social distancing or other measures mandated by authorities and life is pretty much totally normal here now.
You have great leadership on CV in your country. Not so in the USA. Keep them flying.

With a population half that of New York City, you may be experiencing some partial herd immunity effects just as New York City may be experiencing now since 60-80% of cases are asymptomatic and wouldn't have even known they had it. The only way to be sure is to do widespread antibody testing.
