- Welcome to today's video, where you saw the renovation of an old railway signal lamp with a winged wheel symbol.
The winged wheel is a symbol of railway transport, but also a symbol of progress, industrialization and industrial prowess.
The symbol of the winged wheel first appeared in 1835 on a silver tolar minted by King Ludwig I of Bavaria for the ceremonial opening of the 1st German Railway from Nuremberg to Fürst.
In 1846, the symbol was used on the uniforms of Bavarian railway officials.
And 3 years later, the winged wheel became a symbol of the railways.

Радек и Вероника, спасибо вам за очередную отличную реставрацию и интересный рассказ. Я видел такой же фонарь в Германии в 1990 году, только там был комплект со сменными фронтальными стёклами разного цвета (красное, синее и прозрачное).
А ещё в России да и во многих странах крылатое колесо так же является символом железных дорог.

As a suggestion: the emblem could have a bit of a gold touch! And would like to the Lateran light up!
Also the glass seems a bit rough, the edges could be polished to avoid safe usage to the human hands!

I find the lamps design to be interesting, that's the first time I've seen where the fuel chamber can be removed from the lamp. The built-in clip is also a nice feature
Veronika's history lesson on an actual train engine was a nice effect as well.

What a wonderful little lamp. I haven't seen wood burnishing done with sawdust to much lately. But, I like the way the wood comes out when it is used. My mother acquired small a bedroom kerosene lamp that has a porcelain decoration of flowers on it behind the chimney as well as on the porcelain lamp itself. It hangs on the wall. The lamp is detactable. Pull it out of the clip. Has a flat bottom to it. Have you seen anything like this? Great vedeo? ❤😊

Make a cup of tea no milk no sugar. and use that to remove burn and smoke marks from glass and metal. Cheaper and more effective than a spray product. Nice video
