Quick question, class III seq. distalization elastics - When it comes to elastics, would you put a button on an upper first molar that plans to be intruded? Or should put a button on the upper second molar instead?
Not sure I am understanding. You can use first or 2nd molar for the button. It changes the trajectory though
@@Straightsmilesolutions Thanks for replying. The upper first molar will be intruded 1mm. Will using this tooth for elastic button anchorage create an opposite undesirable force if i want the tooth to be intruded?
@@forshigity5000 sorry I really can't say- it's case specific but you are thinking the right way. If you are a dentist- we do 1:1 consulting on cases- www.straightsmilesolutions.com/services
Wouldn’t class 3 elastics push only the bottom teeth back doc?
no, class 3 shifts the lower teeth back en-masse and flares the upper teeth forward.
@@Straightsmilesolutions so it move upper teeth?
It hooks to both arches so it moves both
So what happens after treatment when there’s no more rubber band uses? It but just shifts back even with retainers?

@@Straightsmilesolutions this didn’t answer my question
sorry did my best- best to ask your question to your doctor directly- You need a RETAINER after to hold the canted occlusal plane= otherwise YES it will relapse of course- it's not growth
@@Straightsmilesolutions oh, so there’s special kind of retainers for those with treatment who had to wear elastics for bite treatment??
that's not a thing- that's called "jaw surgery"- if you have relapse after elastics, it wasn't held long enough and it was just tipping. You always want to hold your elastics cases to make sure there's no relapse before you remove braces or Invisalign
