I just saw the first few episodes of The Chosen Season 4 in Theaters. Wow! It was intense, and good, and there was a lot of crying!

Now, I’m not going to spoil the episodes for you if you haven’t seen them, and I know that for a lot of you, you won’t be able to see it until it comes out on the app, but what I want to do is share with you my first impressions...

You know it's weird about the golden calf story in the books of Moses? The people made a golden calf idol BEFORE they received God's 10
Commandments. So how could they have known not to do that?
You are correct. The chosen is a show. The Bible is TRUTH. If people would study the Bible, they will understand what’s going on in the show. And the end. Thank you Brandon for this.
I can't wait because I've read the Bible multiple times while on deployments and I wanna see how it compares
People can see The Chosen either way: read scripture first or become curious after seeing The Chosen and search. I know several who have done this and actually returned to their church. People can also go as a church group and discuss the program afterward. There are many ways to do this. Bottom line: it portrays those times as realistically as possible, and the actors are doing a superb job!
The storyline ignores Jesus' own words: "While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled." John 17: 12
@@MP-lf9is The storyline isn't ignoring it because that hasn't happened yet. We along with the apostles are moving along with Jesus. The words you quote from John (not a synoptic gospel) are said by Jesus in retrospect - so to me that will likely come later. I'm trying to not get ahead of myself and find this very helpful - thinking of it like a pilgrimage!
@@lucillejerome5511 But in the show, Jesus didn't keep Ramah safe. She died because of his words. It seems totally out of character for me. The Good Shepherd is supposed to lead the way for the flock and in this case, the sheep gets killed before the Shepherd and as a result of the Shepherd. It's almost as if she's become the first Christian martyr since she was killed following Jesus. Just seems totally off to me.

Definitely worth seeing in theaters!
I sent a friend just a bunch of emojis in no particular order to describe what I felt while watching.
I saw it yesterday. It was so awesome from laughter to tears. It is worth it to see it.
I saw it Thursday when it came out too. It was truly so good, I laughed & cried too. I am also so glad that it will be streamed later. It is unbelievable how expensive it was to see this. I am not complaining to the Chosen, I understand why they are doing it & for me it was well worth it. I think more people would go to movies if they brought the cost down a bit. This movie was truly worth it.

I love how you break down the word. Absolutely beautiful. Im 33 the same age jesus was when he died. He has been so heavy on my heart this year. I dont fully understand why but im glad hes back in my life. Thank you father.
Great advice, Brandon. Our church has been doing an accountability Bible study for a year now. Each week we read about 12 to 15 chapters of the Bible. Last year when we started the study, we did the New Testament first. For many new Christians they can follow it much easier than the OT. It was also beneficial for me, because of my facilitating two seasons of The Chosen each week (season 2 on Sunday evenings and season 3 on Wednesday mornings). Those in my classes (for the most part) read thru the NT and have a clearer vision than those who have not. But one thing I emphasize each week is to find where each episode points to in scripture. Sometimes the plot lines are harder than others in linking the Bible to the TV show, but with God’s help I find some scripture to point to (Old and New Testament). I believe He led me to your channel shortly after you started it, so I could draw from it and see certain points to emphasize. I rarely comment on here, but I’ve been watching all of them nonetheless. Deep heart felt “Thank You” for this and several other videos. And it’s not just The Chosen related ones, but many of the others. God Bless!
You are right Brandon, I’ve read the Bible three times and I so appreciate that I did because in doing so the chosen series is so much more than entertaining.
Thank you for this fresh reaction and for being SO considerate to those of us who live in countries where we cannot see the episodes in theaters! As an investor (so a superfan from the beginning), it’s easy to feel like an outsider in this discussion until the app release. Thanks for an assignment to help pass the time and increase our appreciation for the episodes when they are finally available to us 😊

I fear I'm still in season one. I just can't seem to fit in time to watch TV🤷♀️But I love your impressions of The Chosen because you drive people to compare the show to the Bible. I feel that is why The Chosen was made. To drive people to want to read their Bibles. Not to change or alter our theologies. God bless💗🙏💗🕊

Agreed, but my teenage granddaughter expressed delight in seeing Season 4 first 3 episodes...loved the dialogue and was happy to receive your info on the scriptures (I received happy faces)!!! We made plans to see the next 3 episodes. She wants to find out the differences between the show and the Bible so we can discuss!! What's not to love??

I saw it on Friday. I have a minor in theology and have read many parts of the bible. They use their literary license and that is okay. But you are so right. Read the scriptures.
The Chosen is a TV show but it does follow the Gospel with artistic license. Dallas Jenkins put together a panel of expert consultants to ensure biblical and historical accuracy in the script he was co-writing for the show. On the panel were a Messianic Jewish rabbi, a Catholic priest, and an evangelical professor of biblical studies.

Hi Brandon. First time looking at your channel. We watched the 3 episodes at the theater last night. I do have high praise for this show and you are right that this is narrative Scriptural fiction. We don't know the deep back stories of the characters. Last night was inspiring and moving. I was surprised they went to certain places in the narrative. Great video Brandon.

I have seen it in the theater and I'm grateful for it because I'm going through grief and the way Jesus speaks about grief is exactly what I needed. Sometimes you just need another person to break it down so simple you're going to have to have to have help to miss it and this was amazing.
So many truths it hit home on so many and it wasn't even what I expected I mean I guess I don't know if it would be a spoiler or not a spoiler if I was expecting something to happen and it did not happen I was expecting the centurions child to be healed and Lazarus raised obviously they were focusing on something else which is great because I love the message in all three. The acting is just amazing!

I saw the Chosen in the theater. It was mesmerizing. I think people get confused about this being a tv show is that the writers and actors are so good at portraying this most important story. People didn’t get all upset about when Charlton Heston portrayed Moses in “The Ten Commandments” or “Ben Hur “. Biblical stories yes. So why is The Chosen different than any other true story portrayed on film? I think GOD is using this portrayal of Jesus to impact people profoundly.

But we should look at them as good actors and their next TV show or movie will not be religious but completely different story line.

I really appreciate your videos and the books that you write to help with reading the Bible, thankyou. Just one thing - the past two books have had a lot of dark colour in them so it makes it expensive to print out so they can be read and reread in print format!! I like how you did your first one with the 10 Tips. Thanks again for all you do.
Nice video! I grew up as the granddaughter of a pastor and heard bible stories all my life, but I didn't really get into reading the bible for myself until I came across the show a few years ago. Because of the show I started listening to different podcasts about the bible as well as reading it myself. I feel much more competent to answer questions about the bible than I used to. (Still always learning)
I love seeing the shows' interpretation of what I have learned about. When I think about it, if I go see a movie version of a novel I've read, I don't picture the movie actors when I go back and read the book. My original versions in my head are too strong. I feel the same with The Chosen. I remember one day in church they read the passage with Phillip meeting the Ethiopian, and while I didn't picture the actor, I had this warm familiar feeling because I had just seen S2 episode 2 a couple of days prior. I could picture this scene in the bible as real people.
You still have much to learn though. Keep reading the Bible! Don't let The Chosen replace the Bible!

I loved watching the chosen when it first came out.
Then my world shattered when I personally watched Dallas Jenkins say on video “ Mormons worship the same Jesus”.
I just don’t know how to get past this and continue watching. Ever since this happened, my desire to watch the show vanished.
I did watch a video of Dallas explaining himself but he didn’t really do that either.
I’m waiting for him to say Jehovahs Witness worship the same Jesus too. Where does it stop?

Well spoken, Brandon....The Chosen is a show, albeit a great one, but just a show. The Word is truth and what we should read/study/follow/KNOW first.
I think this is so great. How many people who know nothing just criticize christians for just blindly following along. Yet he in this says hey, it''s just a tv show. The left media will no doubt show fans who are blindly following the show, even thinking the actor that plays jesus is really jesus, they will love to play that up. Joy Behar of the view interviewed the actor that plays jesus and said something like how christians have "weaponized" their religion. But at least they actually talked about the show on national tv , if only to emphasize the "diversity" of the characters, as if that matters in the long run

Thanks for emphasizing the need for the Bible and The Chosen is a show. I think some Christian rant against the show because not pure enough. Yes, they have artist liberties but I have yet to find where they are offensive or not biblical in nature. The Chosen isn't a religion, I have know people that open the bible because of the chosen and love the message of the disciples possible perspective and lives, because the disciples are relatable to what people go through. Have been on your channel since you pretty much started thanks again for your insight
I saw episodes 1-3, season 4 and I agree...it was intense and gut wrenching. No spoiler alert but Our Christ was dealing with many things among His Disciples and the society around Him at the time. 😔😔
I am a secular person. I love THE CHOSEN. Maybe I see it in a different light. I love that Jesus is badass when dealing with the Pharisees. I love that the characters are not all goody two shoes. It is well acted. I cried at the end.
I just back from a packed theatre and I gotta say, not so much crying. More laughing and the Simon’s decision got some tears (that’s not too much right?), but otherwise there weren’t too many.
Season 3 prepares you like it prepared…someone else and you understand why in season 4. I’m trying to be vague.
Thank you for this. There are some who can’t receive any criticism of this show. They act like it is 100% holy writ.
And they call you an antagonist if you state the truth, that some of the characters are fictional and some of the storytelling was unnecessary, ex: last scene of episode 3.

Just wow! Everyone in the theater was so happy and talkative and excited before the movie. When it ended everyone sat crying for at least 3 minutes, no one spoke or moved. I didn’t see that coming but I also loved and appreciated it. A lot of the disciples died horrible deaths so it had to start going in that direction

Do you know when we will see it streaming?
I love spending time in the Scriptures. I really like the chosen; however, I have made it a point to read Matthew before the seasons begin. This way, my mind is refreshed to what is truth and what is added. They do a great job on this TV show. I am thankful for biblical content. Hollywood is nearly 100% missing this content. Finally we get good content, and Christians are outraged. Mean willing, the director has made it clear this doesn't replace Scripture and encourages the people watching to go read the Bible for themselves.
It can be heart wrenching BUT, be careful!!! Be a Berean, check and double check EVERYTHING!!! Don't add or take away to My word says the LORD!!! And He means it!!!

I fully understand it's a TV show, but it has brought so many people closer to Christ (including me). There are comedy parts and painful parts and all bring us to a better understanding of God and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Soap operetta at times and definitely not scripturally sound for the most part so yes. It’s a tv program that needs to stay as such because I personally wasn’t any more impressed by theater viewing than at home viewing. Powerful. Yes.
I just hope a series as detailed as the Chosen doesn't skip the thief on the cross.

Be prepared it's missing some important scripture. No flashback of Jesus getting baptized by John the baptist, even though they literally are right next to Mount Hermon no mountain of transfiguration scene, and no Nicodemus in the Sanhedrin scene. Kind of irks me these parts were missing, but then they had time for everything else. Those are some critical moments that should not be left out.

I saw the episodes yesterday and just WOW. Your video needs to be heard by people, as it seems many are relying on the show alone. Going forward (in both it as a show and it has biblical reference) I feel A and B had to happen, because these characters were not biblical and perhaps needed to be removed. One to The Father and the other perhaps in jail. Not meant to be a spoiler, just a thought

I appreciate this and I will take your advice. I have appreciated the chosen through the first three seasons but felt the romance started and leading to the "big event" felt like pandoring. Like scripture was not enough and had to add the gratuitous drama to keep people interested. I was disppointed and for the first time really felt like this might bee a poor idea afterall.
