Thank god I’ve been looking for aftermarket headlights for awhile and all the ones currently on the market have bad reviews so hopefully these are legit
The nice part about these ones is they get bench tested before being sent out, and then have a warranty if there does happen to be any issues. The very simple wiring should help with reliability, as well.
Unfortunately, the bumper isn’t available anymore. The winch is just a Smittybuilt XRC 9.5k Gen 2 synthetic. I’m not a big fan of it, but it was the right price. Haha
hey Matt great video I have the same headlights installed thr only thing missing on mine is the how to connect so the daylights work like on yours the 2 settings the place I took it to were to scared to do it they said they didn't want to damage them
Hi Matt, love the modifications and build on this FJ! Do you have a consolidated list of all the parts and upgrades/mods you've made on it? Would be super helpful as a reference! Thank you!
I love your channel and your FJ. It looks Bad A**. I own a 2008 & I can't find these headlights that you installed. Please help me out. Much appreciated. Thanks
I don’t think they have the stealth version anymore, but the standard ones are very close and a bit brighter. Here’s a link to those.🤙🏼. www.freedomoutfittersus.com/product-page/fj-cruiser-dynamik-headlights
That’s a tough one! Best bet is a DIY retrofit. My plan is to actually do a video on that in the near future. It’ll be a full walk through on how to do an FJ headlight.
Hey Matt Thanks for the update I’m about to buy these but I’m really confused. I want the ones with clear lenses not the smoked lenses as I need a better light output 2600 MAX LUX (clear-standard trim) vs 1600 MAX LUX (Stealth Edition) My FJ is Black in colour and I think the standard trim with clear lenses will suit it better. Can you please confirm the difference and tell me if they (standard and stealth) look very different aesthetically and the difference in light output? I would really appreciate your help and time in this regard. Cheers
Hey Sam, you caught me at a good time! Haha. So it sounds like you are already on the right track in terms of the differences. The stealth series uses a smoked lens that does steal a bit of output over the standard versionZ. I personally like that darker look, but if you want the max light output possible, I would definitely recommend the Bi-LED standard ones. As for how they look, turned on they’ll look very similar to the stealth series, it’s mostly when off that you’ll be able to see more clearly into the lights without that tinted lens.
@@fj_matt Thank you so much Matt for your prompt reply. Matt, did you have any issues with hyper flashing? Do I need to get the LED Flasher Relay? Love your work Cheers
I just preordered those from a different vender. EDIT: They are the same exact lights...But for $320 less, Did you unplug your DLR on the drivers side?
Yeah, I haven’t yet seen this stealth setup with the Bi-LED projectors sold elsewhere, but maybe they are now. The nice thing about getting them from Freedom Outfitters is the warranty that comes with them. That’s a good question, I have the DRL plug slightly undone so I can run the halo part independently.🤙🏼
@@fj_matt Yeah I dont know if they are exactly the same but they are Bi LED black housing with smoked lenses, I guess the halos could be a different color but I don't know, seems to be right on the money. Otherwise
@@fj_matt I got them and they are definitely the same lights. Bi LED, was a bit awkward to get them aimed and you can really see that sharp cutoff line. Pattern is a bit weird looking with some sharp bend angles but I do love them. Really changed the night driving game.
The model I got have built in LED diodes, so there are no replaceable bulbs. There are other versions out there that take normal halogen or LED bulbs. They aren’t stock H4 bulbs though from what I know.
Great Video, I actually just purchased these exact Headlights from Archaic and had them installed yesterday. However the problem I am having is that I only have Highbeams and no Lowbeams. I do have a way to keep only the LEDs on but its with the switch turned all the way up and forward (like what you would normally do for high beams) but for some reason it results in just a DRL function. Seems backwards. Any Tips on what might be the reason for this? My FJ is a 2014. Any help you have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, -Josh
That doesn't sound right at all... I got the "Spec D" ones, same exact lights, everything functions perfectly on my 2008 FJ. I have no idea how you could wire them wrong considering they are plug and play, did you double check the harnesses on the turn signals are not flipped backwards possibly?
Hey Josh, It really sounds like something has been wired backwards. I wonder if undoing your DRL plug would help anything or if it’s messed up in the headlight wiring itself.
@@fj_matt Have a black grill ready to install once I get all these lights in. Deleting all the silver trim bits for OEM black parts. Once it’s done it will be murdered out.
@@fj_matt I really don’t either haha. Glad most of the silver bits are just clipped or bolted on. Still the prices Toyota charges for these black pieces are nuts.

Nice to see Logan Kings car in the background 😃
Haha I agree!
Love it! I have the Dynamik headlights and blinkers on my FJ that look almost identical to this new version.
Sweet! I like both versions a lot.
You’re awesome Matt! I just installed some Spec-D lights and this video helped so much

Nice work on the thumbnail.😁
Wow wow awesome FJ 👍

Did you disocnnect your day time plug? The companie suggest to do this and I don't know. I think it is regulatory to have day time light on. Thanks!
I disconnected it! You still keep the halos as your DRL, so it keeps it legal.🤙🏼
I wish they did there for the Rhd market
Ah, that’s fair!
What is your front bumper and winch combo? Best I’ve seen…. And almost next on my to-do list 2008 FJ. (Getting exhaust next week!)

There’s a grey plug under the drivers side headlight that you need to unplug. Once you do that, they’ll function like mine.👍🏼
How have these held up so far? Any issues during winter?
I’ve had absolutely no issues, and they’ve been down below -40.
