Im betting you’ll feel little to no sensation when it comes to the zoom bag, grass is already cushioned so it won’t feel as squishy as they would in sneakers. If you play on really dry grass you may feel it more. Weight probably around 7 oz.
Same opinion with you. I also think this application of airzoom is more suitable with TF or IC than FG,SG
@@tranlonguuu yep, those are harder surfaces which will put more pressure on the bag which should make it more noticeable
@@tranlonguuu I really hope they eventually produce the previous Merc AG-R tooling w this 🔥
I'm guessing 6.976789 oz
i’ve used them and you immediately feel the effect on the whole boot compared to the air zoom vapors which is only the front area
Dubai coach isn’t gonna like how little protection these have…
its also expensive
🤣🤣🤣
The under armour "charged" insole is amazing. A combination of it with air zoom would make you feel like flying
I'm very interested to see this implemented in something like the react gato where coupled with the react cushioning it could potentially actually be game changing
Grass cushions enough your movement, so I think these would be pretty pointless on natural grass (FG and SG). They'd be more useful on turf over solid concrete.
Really interesting these but I feel like Carbitex will be more effective…not much beats carbon fibre in terms of energy return , this will be a very good battle tho
I'm surprised Josh made no mention of the Vapor 14 Pro Turfs, WHICH DO have the Air Zoom unit. In fact I bought a pair thanks to his glowing review... and yes, they have been excellent on feet! On the turf surface, I can feel the balance between responsiveness and cushioning of the Zoom technology, while being much more low profile than the pair of Tiempo 7 Lunar Pros that it replaced in my bag (Lunarlon felt too thick, unresponsive, and unstable... I always felt I was prone to rolling my ankle... it's like I was constantly negotiating with my boots).
I had a pair of Nike Zoom GX II's back in the late 90's (yes, I'm getting old), and they had a full length zoom air unit molded into the sock liner. I thought it felt great in a pair of soccer boots. I feel like it relieved a fair amount of stud pressure when playing on really hard, dry grass surfaces.
I personally didn't have any foot slippage issues in the heel or anywhere else with them, but that's not to say that some people might. I think a pair of those lovely grip socks would alleviate any problems anyone would have though.
Are these the ones that had a bunch of short studs? Those were hard ground legends in like ‘99/‘00.
@@caseyallen7517 Mine were just regular FG patterned. I think what you're thinking of is maybe a TG version, which would've had a lot of small cleats closely packed together; good for old school artificial turf or really hard ground. I'm just guessing though. I really have no idea if they made a TG version of the GX II.
Kd 12s are SOOOO comfy, hoping to see this type of strobel implemented more often
I had the Nike legends which had the zoom air insert in the heel. Had no noticeable difference. What made those boots so great was the stud configuration. 8 conical studs with two blades studs in the forefoot. For me the most comfortable and natural configuration which gives more traction than you think.
Having a zoom Unit in something with nothing else for cushion definitely works (Nike did it in the Jordan 1 and it works for sure). These on all levels SHOULD work as far as being just hella comfortable, especially the harder the ground gets.
Weight-wise, they’ll likely be a bit heavier, simply because of the full soleplate and probably a lot more Glue being used to fix the zoom unit to the Plate.
I see that the 1996 Nike Air Rio Zoom boots have entered the chat. Only true OGs know how good that boot was. Best Nike boot ever made.
Hey Josh, curious to know your opinion about buying and using an older model to play, since I just bought a pair of Superfly 4’s brand new and wanted to ask if you think they’d be less durable since they’re a few years old or if they should hold up just fine?
I’m here and I’m ready !!
Where can I get these other then your website, I wanna try on a few to make sure I land them?
I’m glad they trying this stuff cause the superfly alpha next % really does return energy back. They were game changer
I’m thinking about getting my first pair of leather boots, currently own a pair of Predator freak.1s, would you recommend the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite or the Mizuno Morelia II?
Hello nice video, could you make a review of the Pantofla d’oro Superleggera? It looks like an amazing Leather boot.
In comparison to carbon fibre (Adidas X speedflow) the air zoom unit wouldn't be much use when sprinting up on your toes as the compression would cause all the air to rush to the rear of the unit so you wouldn't benefit from the unit sprinting. In my opinion it'd only be useful for standard running in a match.
I'm curious to see how comfortable these actually are. Just from aesthetics, it looks like it would have some pretty uncomfortable creases in it. But flywire is great, so it's cool to see that back.
I agree. The upper doesn’t look pliable.
The vapor 15 and superfly 9 will have zoom air so even if you miss out on this one don’t stress it lol
Haha exactly. Which is why I’m more than happy to skip the air zoom ultra boots lol
Don’t think the vapor will have a stand alone tongue or stuff but I’m sure some of the concepts will carry on the vapor 15 and superfly 9. Tho I do hope we have the Vapor with the current upper while the superfly 9 with flyknit.
I’m most excited for the next phantom. I saw a player in the USL championship wearing them and they look interesting
Im speculating here, but i think this tech will feel more like a comfort thing rather than running boost. the issue being as many have said in the comments the effectiveness will be reduced by the cushioning nature of grass. from a physics point of view 'energy return' is a bit of a mythical idea. science says it should be more like 'reduced energy loss'. be it, foam/air/carbon the practicality of getting consistent effect in theroy could work but is just a bit too science fiction for the real world... at the moment anyway!
What time on 3/21 and where do they drop? The link in description doesn’t have that info.
what time EST will these drop?
Does anyone know what website and time they would be released?
Look at the colourway, and the soleplate…These were so obviously made for the Tokyo Olympics and they’re just trying to sell off old prototype stock that didn’t go into full production (all Nikes other running shoe lines are the same colourway). I really don’t believe it’s groundbreaking tech or a new silhouette. Saying all this, I for one will of course be buying 😅
If you have a nike sb dunk, you can see the zoom bag if you take out the insoles
Do you think I could use those studs on AG?
It’s not a very AG friendly stud pattern, no.
Does anyone know of any websites where mizunos neo 3 betas aren’t sold out ? 😂
Please do a review on the mizuno basara 101 archive pack
@Soccer Reviews For You hey josh any insights to why ronaldo is wearing FG studs now in wet england and messi is wearing SG studs? it’s funny to see ronaldo whose go to was always the sg pro studs and messi who purely wears his custom gambatrax FG studs wearing SG now.
add a pure branding sticker to your sock package that would be cool
I do think some of these techs and ideas will be carrying on the next generation of the Mercruals Vapors/Superflys and we all remember what Nike did with the flyknit ultra Vapor then we saw later with the vapor 12/13. Tho this is just me but I do hope the superfly will be its own thing with its own upper while the vapor is it’s own thing too
For sure! I think Zoom Air will be on the next-gen Mercs.
not the same zoom as before, it is the same zoom found on the pods of the alphafly, completly diferent from normal zoom or zoom x(tht's why it's called air zoom and not zoom air diferent tecnologies)
Return of standalone tongue! 👅
sheesh you got some big arms now >//
0:55 nice caption :)))
My concern is what happens if it pops
Would it feel like Mizuno’s wave technology maybe?
I wouldn’t expect it to.
Ur the best
this boot looks like a track spike ngl
Is this considered the vapor 15
No
It makes me remind of the ultraboost technology as a sensation on your feet, is it right?
Yes and no. Less compression than an Ultraboost
Nike and Mazda Collab: Zoom Zoom
The design of the 2020 version looks better imo
The most “Superfly” Mercurial in a long time.
Wish there are my size
Wow
None of it matters because only 1,000 will be available. If they mass produce it then I'll get them.
it’s just marketing jargon tbh
Rip the tempos
Hi
It is just gimmick ngl in a few months that zoom bag will deflate after a lot of heavy use and abuse
Can I have a shout out
Imagine having 727k Subs oh wait you don't✅🔥😎
I bet you were in 2nd grade when he did hockey on his channel
