I know it might be recency bias but 48-47 to Chito was the worst score I have seen. I just couldn't believe it when they said it was a split decision
I feel the exact same way. Most robberies have rounds that are somewhat debatable or competitive. No round in that fight was even competitive besides the 5th, and cory probably deserved to win that round too
yeah at the absolute most I could see maybe 48-47 for Cory, but it was really more of a 49-46 cory, no way in hell did chito win that fight 3 rounds to 2.

The 50-45 card by Doug Crosby for Sabatello vs. Stots should be No. 1 on this list. First time in MMA history the loser of a 5-round fight was awarded a 50-45 winning card. Blatant corruption.
Doug Crosby is the worst judge in combat sports and if Chael's story is to be believed, should probably be put in prison before he kills someone
Doug Crosby is also the guy who was in the Chael Sonnen get in the hole story, the guy is a straight up sociopath, not even up for debate, he does not belong within 500 yards of a scorecard.

Athletic Comissions will NEVER fire any of their judges. There is literally no one to hold them accountable, literally NO ONE. Dana said he wanted to never have events in Vegas again cause of the Comission... the governor of NV chewed him out for it... literally no one can do anything about it

Rory McDonald vs Gleison Tibau in PFL 2021 was one of the biggest robberies I've ever seen. There is no world where Tibau won that fight. That one should've 100% been investigated.
This list was more based where an individual judge was giving a bad score rather than an overall robbery by the panel

I’m honestly shocked that Diego Sanchez vs Ross Pearson wasn’t listed.
That was arguably the worst robbery in MMA history. It was so bad Dana White paid Ross Pearson his win bonus anyway and matched him next as if he won.

Diego has been on the winning side of quite a few awful decisions. Martin Kampmann turned his face into pulp, dropped him multiple times and shrugged off 95% of his takedown attempts. It was a lopsided fight in kampmann’s favor and the judges gave Diego the win. Insane.

Nah the worst one ever is Gunnar Nelson vs Rick Story. One judge gave a 48-47 scorecard for Gunnar Nelson while another judge had it 50-43 for Story and the other 50-44. Rick Story literally beat the daylights out of him.

I've liked the deep dives they've been doing. I think a good idea would be to see what happened to some of the fighters who didn't amount to much but still had classic moments on the show. I can only imagine all the cool warrior shit Andy Wang has done since then.

Yan vs O'Malley was a clear 30-27 Yan, but I'm happy with a 29-28 Fiziev. JJ Ferraro had it 30-27, that's a pre-written scorecard. There's 0 way Fiziev won R3.

The judge who scored the final round of Shevchenko vs Grasso 2 as 10-8 Grasso making it a draw. Shevchenko was dominating most of that round then made a mistake and gave her back but it led to nothing. This has to have been a fix under the circumstances and Shevchenko said she wasn't surprised by this in her post fight interview. Some judges try and make the result what they think the UFC wants rather than who really won. The Pimblett Gordon fight another example.
The paddy pimblett vs jared gordon fight was also a huge issue in a lot of peoples eyes

Nah read the scorecards even the 2 judges who scored it 49-46 didn't agree on the rounds... Mean 2 of the only consensus rounds were 2 and 4.. the rest were swing rounds
@@Livingstone7728 two judges had Strickland winning four rounds and one had him winning only two. The only competitive round was the first, Strickland out struck him literally every round and never got taken down

5:22 watch this back today I think you’ll be surprised. He made BJ look slow. No doubt it’s an Edgar win. Doug is trippin lol but 48-47 is right.
I still think this is THE fight where atleast I began noticing a sometimes maybe tactical shift to play to the judging advantages fighters can find. Defensive movement especially with Doug gets heavily rewarded as does pressure or I suppose what became known now as effective grappling. Also notice Frankie was dynamic. His game plan was shifting by round. BJ was predictable and stagnant. None of which of scoring criteria I agree but with fresh eyes, especially how it ended, it doesn’t even close to some robbery. It’s a smart tactic for a fighter to consider the judges and their implicit bias of the criteria - it just asks the audience to appreciate what the fighter is doing when it can feel frustrating watching live.
The fact that there are only 3 judges means one awful scorecard can have way too big an affect on a fights outcome
Agreed. Would you like to see a bigger panel like 5 judges? I think it could be good, but on the other hand it’d be crazy to see 5 different scores given out for the same fight 😂 with these judges anything is possible.

We should really hold these judges more accountable. They’re messing with peoples’ livelihoods when they score decisions like this. They need to be strictly disciplined, have their pay cut, or just straight up fire them after enough blatant bad decisions
