    Finally somebody correctly explained the Foramen lacerum. "Nothing pass through it but emmissary veins" Even Netter Atlas got it wrong. Internal carotid doesn't pass through it, it goes above it! Thank you.

    Talents are gifts from Allah, not anyone has this gifted talent for teaching. wherever I meet an anatomist I mention your name that you taught me during my medical degree.
    I am proud that you taught me, Dr Akram.

      @@akram.jaffar Sir I'm studying mbbs in india (1st yr) .... but want to do my pg in abroad (us, uk, uae) what procedures I've to follow? .... do I need my internships from india before my pg ? or can I just attempt the examinations like usmle, plab, etc. to study pg abroad?... please sir I'm quite a bit confused between all these

    • @akram.jaffar
      @akram.jaffar  Před 3 lety +1

      I am not sure of the exact regulations but I have heard from some of my students that both scenarios can work but doing an internship increases the chances to get a job. You can search that on the Internet by looking for usmle or plab groups.

    Hi Dr. Jaffar! At around 37:30 when describing the groove that the anterior branch of the middle meningeal artery travels along, you say that the artery deeply notches or "tanalizes" (sp?) the pterion at that point. From context, I gather that it sometimes passes through the pterion at that point; but I can't fully understand the word you said. Can you clarify that and possibly help me with the spelling of the word? Thank you!

    • @akram.jaffar
      @akram.jaffar  Před 8 lety +4

      It means that the artery passes through a tunnel instead of a groove. If watch it again you will find that at one point the groove disappears to reappear again. The passage of the artery into a tunnel within the bone makes the artery at a closer relation to the outer table of the skull and thus more prone to injury in fracture.
      Thank you for your interest.

    Where does the trigeminal ganglion make its impression? The pointer was not specific. He says CN-V ganglion is found at apex of petrous temporal bone, but points to the carotid sulcus.

      Middle cranial fossa in front of the medial end of the petrous temporal bone just lateral tot he carotid
