HEY ALL. Normal videos will resume on WEDNESDAY! I just wanted to stick to my getting videos out Mon-Fri, and those included shorts. I've been working on a video that's been taking longer than usual, and then Thurs/Fri will be the China pack!
And of course this exploit works best against the frontloaded Deity AI...
More gold=more opportunity to steal from the AI
Spiffin brit has entered chat
468 likes and no comment? Let me fix that.
Portugal: See what they need to mimic a fraction of our power!
There used to be an exploit where you could spend more gold per turn than it could calculate and then loop back around and give you a functionally infinite amount to spend each turn but then Mansa Musa came out and people started to do the opposite so it got patched
Also unintentionally fixed the problem where if a Mongolian cavalry unit had more than 100% chance to steal a defending cavalry unit it would have been destroyed in its attack instead of capturing the defending unit (think a tank facing a chariot and dying instantly because the chance to capture was based on unit strength)
That's called pump up trigger down in economy😂
My favorite is the unearthed relic exploit. If the civ in question has room, on the same turn you uncover a buried artifact turn around and sell it before you end the turn. If a civ has room for it, they’ll purchase it at any cost. You can drain the accounts of every civ on the map trading, and they’ll surrender their entire treasury lol
you learn something new everyday
@@boesthius the one on the short was just patched. The relic one as well
@@feliperea3271
Any new ones?
Leave it to Detective Boes to find all the exploits in Civ 6 🕵️♂️
This has been used by PotatoMcWhiskey for like, 4 years
Nice, time to buy out the AI right before warring them
this mechanic was already 20 years ago in a game called Fable: The lost chapters;
you could sell 40 diamonds or any other item at full price to a merchant who has not too much of it, and then buy it from him at lower price because he has so much
„We just gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse“
💀
This short and the one about ToA are really good. If you made more like these you would get a lot more traffic on your shorts and probably gain some extra subs from randomly recommended shorts
That's actually the plan, I'm glad you liked it! There's another coming out tomorrow~
and from here, any idea of an Economic Victory Condition was slain, gutted, left to dry and turned into jerky.
Can confirm still works, even with quick deals.
How’d you get it to work it’s not for me. Wrong dlc?
How did u make to work? When I try to Buy the resources they won't sell it
Also anptjer one is to buy their diplomatic favor b4 they got the civic that allows them to actually use it. Then sell it back to them for crazy high gold
I do something similar but a bit more balanced i trade gold for gold per turn and usually the ai worth for 1 gold for 30 turns is equivalent to about 21 gold meaning every gold a ai is making is worth around 9 so assuming a ai is making 20 gold per turn you can get around after the 30 turns it’s much less op than this but much faster so I would recommend it for multiplayer games
Me: I don’t like to exploit
Also me: But I’ve still never won a deity game…
Ive won my deity game with religion victory in 1x1. Ive just spammed settlers and let my enemy to capture my cities untill occupied cities became majority)
@@flomaster76what! that’s genius and evil! i like it!
after giving horses for gold, it says it is an offer blocking deal... and I can not buy it back
I think this was somewhat turned down cuz the ai is now not willing to trade strategics anymore if it would mean they will have less than certain amount of it (around 20) at least thats what i noticed when trying this or similar thing with diplo favor
Very broken indeed
Yes but most people dont know use the real gold trick...
You can borrow money right. You can also lend money. If you lend the enemy money you snowball fast.. like at some point per round you getting over several K Gold.
Cong. You can now buy unit like you want.
Explain a little more please? How is this work? You borrow money and lend it back?
Will try out Mali and use this to break the Game further
Works in nearly every game where the NPCs or AI factions increase the value of an item by sparsity
Does this work for Xbox? Every time I try this they won’t sell me it back
i usually just loan the ai gold . then i just collect the interest per turn
Smart man, what kind of interest do they give?
@@zachforbes3901 get the Quick Deals mod. You can easily borrow and lend money in the "Exchange tab".
Usually the interest rate is about 10% but the loans income stacks so fast, especially if there are a lot of civs in the game.
Be sure not to lend money to your enemies though because you’ll lose the GPT immediately after declaring a war
I'll try it on my brother.
They finally patched it? I just tried selling 50 iron to poundmaker who had none and now he won't sell it back. Tried with Pericles and Gilgamesh they only give me half the value
My favourite part about Civ6 is that if you put the resolution bigger than your monitor and then try to play the game youll never be able yo change it again even if you reinstall rhe game conpletely 😊
Change launch parameters to open in windowed mode. That fixes it
Damn. Maybe I can defeat deity with this haha
well if you cant do it regularly maybe you should learn the basic mechanics first then
deity isnt even hard
@@are3287 wow you are so intelligent and cool Are 😂
If diety isnt hard...what is?
@@nathanweber6859 the deity with the most civilizations on the map. literally first 2 wars at least
@@nathanweber6859civ IV deity
Pretty realistic tbh, They call that a global trade deficit 💀
You telling me ai has +300 gold per turn?!
I get the same amount of money just by my spies. I once ran a game, where I got almost 700 gold per turn just by my spies and a few fair trades.
Funny thing is that these kind of exploits irl haven't been patched either. So it's realistic I guess.
whenever i go to do this the game only lets me trade a resource for 30 turns rather than just a 1 time offer. Anyone know a work around for this? (Im new to the game and don't really know what im doing wrong lol)
how do you get 40 iron ? i always just see 2 of everything like 2 diamonds 2 elephants, 2 niter
doesnt seem to work for me, do I have to target a specific AI or do I need to wait until he or i have like 40 stockpile size or something
Mr. Krabs, I have an idea!
You didn't mention that you were giving him gold in addition to the gold per turn, can you instead give him more gold per turn and no gold? I know that you can typically give ~16 gold for 1 gold per turn, so I don't know if this actually gives better rates
sometimes, however in general it's more useful to get the GPT because over the 30 turns you'll be gaining like 1.5x - 2x more gold overall
With that example, you get about 40 gold profit since you're paying 80 gold up front.
It's about the gold per turn, not about the flat gold really
@@boesthius i know, I'm just stating the profit you made with the deal.
@@boesthius In the video, the AI seems to be asking you for a one-time payment of around 80 gold per cycle, but isn't offering you any one-time payment per cycle. Presumably, you'll run out of gold in your reserves at some point; your video cuts before that ever happens and your reserves seem to suddenly fill back up to 360. How do you get around that?
It only exists because the spiffing Brit has not used it yet
Just tested this with nitre in a diety ambiorix renaissance era save.
Did not work with friends or allies.
Gonna abuse this
Ferb i know what we are doing today
Then he realises what you've been doing and sends his ships to pillage your villages, burn your cities to the ground and takes all your gold, sheep and women.
This would be fine on Settler, but…
Damn my boy harald getting done dirty over and over
Nice
Talk about the free diplo favor lmao
Stonks. Although I don't like cheesy exploits on games.
Math left the chat
Can anyone help it's not working, im playing it on deity
This will be fun lol
i actually found this accidentally
How is this not patched! Wow
I mean, you could do it with any resource
Does it have tk be 40 iron?
Does this still work mid to late game?
10x30+83=383
14x30=420
You profit is 43 total.
Tried this in my current Emperor-level game and it didn't really work. Wonder if it's just a Deity think because they actually have the money to do it? It might also have been a tad too early in Ancient Era for it to really work.
Yeah it might be just a Deity thing, I'm not sure
I haven't tested it, but it should work on all difficulties.
Some of the reasons I can think of that can cause it to fail are:
1 you don't have enough room to store all the resources, so you can't buy all the resources back from the AI.
2 the AI really dislikes you and asks for a high price. This is fine, just keep repeating the trade, and the AI will gradually grow fond of you, and the trades tip in your favor. Very rarely, one or two AI hate you so much that the prices remain high no matter what, just give up in that case.
3 AI hasn't discovered that resource yet, and doesn't recognize its value.
4 AI only buys a maximum of 40 horses, 40 irons, 40 nitre, 22 coal, 22 oil, 22 aluminum, if I remember correctly. So don't sell more than that to the AI.
@Frank Artanis thank you! My guess it was that they hadn't revealed the tech yet? I'll have to try it again later.
sounds like university but your the universityt
Ok so the trade sweet spot on each resource is...
Aluminum = 22
Coal = 22
Horses = 40
Iron = 40
Niter = 40
Oil = 22
Uranium = ???
...do you or does anyone know what the number is for Uranium? It seems inconsistant every time I have tried it thus far.
does it still work?
I don't think it works on xbox. I tried it but it's just not working.
In this scenario you are only making about 1 gold per turn per completed trade.
It's a neat little trick to help you over the line, but oft not worth the time taken to get crazy numbers.
Thanks Boes
Best to use this exploit with Eleanor
Not the 16 gold = 1 gold for 30 turns exploit?
Here’s how to beat cig 6….get 40 iron how do I do such a thing? I’m lucky to get one 😢 guys…I think it’s a skill issue 😭
Dose it work on console
How do you even get that much iron???
I never used this exploit, but I have heard about it. I thought they patched it years ago! Guess not!
I've never gotten this to work, is there a specific speed, of difficulty to use this with?
Standard and deity~

I play on quick speed usually and the AI won't accept delegations when you first meet them, perhaps game speed also affects this.
I believe in civ v supremacy
This work online?
Because of the lump sum on top of the 10 gold per turn you aren’t really profiting all that much, and you don’t even ‘break even’ until around 2/3 of the 30 day trade period, don’t get me wrong you still profit but if you want gold soon this isn’t it
The AI always refuse to sell their strategic resources to me when I don't have access to them and only sells them once they become irrelevant. Is that just because they haven't reached the storage capacity?
I'm new to Civ, how do you get that much iron, is it a dlc? In my games 2 is enough, feels like I am playing a different game.
It is the gathering storm dlc
Strategic resources work differently in gathering storm than they do in the base game.
Is this patched? Because every time I do it, they sell exactly the same quantity back plus when I buy it I have to give more gold
I have the exact same issue
Quick trade mod and you be rich
How tf do you get 40 iron? I find it hard to get even 1
Harold moment right here
Pc civ has different stuff console doesn't get governors either
Iron builds up in your stockpile from the iron mines u have, one mine might give 3 iron per turn until the stockpile is full
Is this patched?
What do you mean this is an exploit? This is literally the EU economy policy towards the Southern European Countries for more than 30 years now.
How the hell?
I'm broke💀
just play Portugal and make 10k per round
this doesnt work anymore i think
It does AFAIK, I can test it however
@@boesthius dam then I must be doing something wrong
Doesn't work with oil, I tried 😢
help pls i can’t get it to work at all
Nice an fallout move 😊
But how do you get so much of that strategic resource to even do this
How the fu*k do i get 40 of Iron?
I lost my stuff
How do u get 40 iron?!?!
its from the expansions~
I just tried this. I gave Gilgabro 20 coal for 17 GPT. Then I tried to get the 20 coal back, but he wants 26 GPT for it. Thats a net loss
Does this work without dlc?
I didn't try it, but it should work without DLC, as there is no DLC mechanic
@@nintendogamer1926 Resource stockpiles is a DLC feature, so no. Base game, you either do or don’t have a resource.
How does one get so much iron anyway
Build wide. Mine every iron resource you can get.
@@MichaelJohnson-kq7qg my mistake was playing standard rules, only recently started Gathering Storm but thanks anyway lol
I use quick trades mod, choose borrow gold for X gold per turn. Buy banks to get more gold per turn repeat.
oh hell yeah, finally payback against the cheating AI since they have so.many bonuses
You have to spend a lot of gold, aren't you?
Im fairly new but is it a bug that u can strip the ai of all ressources gold and relics when u conquered their capital and propose peace?
Not necessarily a bug but more like they just want the war to end so they'll give you everything. There IS a bug when it comes to gifting cities however, but I think they may have patched it out?
No, the AI is just desperate for peace and likely doesn't have many resources left by the time you take their capital. Although, sometimes the AI will refuse to make peace even when they have 1 tiny city left with no troops or gold.
Just did this to China today with Russia. They gave me everything , it was insane I got like 7 cities every single resource and gold, they had a single city left
Capitalism at its finest!
Bout to win my first Standard Deity game lol
MUAHAHHAHAAHA * Sips a little tea * MUUAHAHAHHAH
Does this still work in april?
