It is always hard to get high school students to see the power of a form so ancient and to understand the crucial role of the chorus. Your rendition and additions do it so well. Thank you ! Kudos to all involved from actors, to set, lighting, music - fantastic. My honors class is reading play aloud in class, and I am showing them segments of this interspersed. Thank you to all!
@@OraclePictures you are welcome. We read 1/2 play before finding your video - they watched 20 min of it - and when we went back to reading they were so much more animated and engaged This is how cooperative eduction happens.
Amazingly done, I have the darama in my course, and this video alone has saved me. The thing that impressed me the most and captured my attention was the music, the likes of which are rare to hear, a beautiful blend of rock music and the lyrics uttered by the cast. Words cannot express the quantity of gratitude I have for you, thank you. (I was definitely influenced to write like this lol)
Had to read Oedipus for a class and did this instead and followed along, thank yall so much this was a huge help!!! Also a wonderful play! I love the guitar and rock music yall put in!
I'm going to save timestamps to songs. Maybe I'll label them too 9:48 23:08 Tiresias sings 26:29 He sings more, says that Oedipus killed his father and married his mother 27:51 Oedipus the man accused 50:48 Oedipus's wife/mom singing 1:09:17 After Oedipus realizes everything

People sleeping on Tiresias's song😩😩😩 anyone know the name? If it has one
It doesnt. There isn't really any written down version of that song, or any songs in any ancient Greek play.
23:11 for future me😩
