Day 19 of Our Christmas Expedition - the ancient city of Regensburg in Bavaria

We left Austria in glorious sunshine and arrived in mid-afternoon in Regensburg in Bavaria where the weather had turned grey. What an amazing city. We couldn't believe that we had never stopped there before. It has Roman remains and is full of Roman and medieval history. A beautiful stone bridge over the River Danube (which wasn't blue that afternoon) and two-spired Cathedral. Evidently the Christmas market is one of the best and we have already booked for December 2023. We can't wait to go back.
