The song was written by Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson. Ronson produced it. Back to Black was inspired by her relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil, who had left her for an ex-girlfriend. Back To Black put Amy Winehouse in the GRAMMY history books. Amy Winehouse's five wins for 2007 set a record at the time for the most GRAMMYs won by a female British artist.
