I’d say Spectacular Spider-Man, although It got cut short, it had one of the best representations of the character of Peter Parker and the balance between his normal life and Superhero life. It never shied away from deeper concepts although it was supposed to be for a younger audience. Therefore solidifying it’s spot for the greatest prime.

Giannis prime is looking good but honestly as of right now how the bucks are currently constructed I don’t see Giannis winning many chips like yeah if Middleton healthy they probably get pass the Celtics but I doubt they could’ve beaten golden state and on top of that jrue is gonna be 33 next year and Middleton will be 31 and had a rough pass season. They also don’t have any young assets and they picks will always be trash so how the bucks are constructed for the next few years I don’t see Giannis being able to win with them

It’s a tough convo because LeBron’s prime was by far the longest of any player without question, yet Jordan’s was short including a break in between to allow for him to go further but accomplished more. Realistically they convo is only really between MJ and LeBron

If we’re going by peak of their peak meaning there best seasons so like 4 or 5 LeBron was more dominant on the defense he was robbed for DPOY in 2013 and could legitimately guard big men, maybe not Dwight Howard but he was capable of switching and staying on big men, his scoring peak he had no weakness he could shoot from 3, pull up from the mid range or just dunk it on you, Shaq’s prime is all time great but he definitely didn’t have a better prime than LeBron
Larry Bird's peak was pretty insane. From 1984-1989 he averaged 27 PPG with 50-40-90 shooting splits, 10 RPG, 7 APG with 2 steals a game in the regular season. He won 3 MVPs during that time and went to the championship 4 times and won two of them. Seems strange to talk about Magic, but not Bird.
Bird is an all time great, no doubt. Efficiency is an incredibly underrated stat. 50-40-90 is crazy good, especially for someone who shot as much as Bird.

Fax. Hakeem is easily underrated. People forget most of his years with Houston were wasted cuz of the lack of help he had and Sampson was injured but he played his best basketball in 1993-95 and carrying his team to the finals

Larry Bird for peak has to be in the top 5. Not career, but peak. 84-86 he won 3 MVPs in a row, 2 F MVPs and had multiple elements of his game that help. He could shoot, rebound and pass at an elite level. He also didn't need the ball in his hands. He was great under the rim, from beyond the arc and wasn't reliant on that aspect.
I think Jordan in the late 80's to 93 is the best peak ever. Bron in the early to mid 2010s is great too tho.
Curry gotta be in this convo, unanimous mvp season, most efficient high-volume scoring prime ever by a long shot etc, and I understand the defense argument, but if we’re solely concerned on how much someone helps you to win basketball games, curry is still absolutely elite. I would also throw Wilt into this discussion. One could argue his entire 15 season career was a prime, as he averaged 30 ppg, 22 rpg, and ** ... However, his first 8 seasons in the league are friggin' ridiculous. By my count, he averaged 38.8 ppg and 24.6 rpg (again, we do not know how many blocks, but a lot of those!). He was the scoring champ 8 consecutive seasons, the rebounds champ 11 total seasons, led the league in field goal % 10 times, minutes per game 9 times, and has an assists title.

Im taking Wilt, and it might be a debate but not a close one I believe, He averaged over 30 ppg and 22 rebouds per game for 9 seasons (One of those being a 50 and 25 average), and then for seasons #10 and 11, he averaged 24 points, but damn near 8 assists for both seasons. That is 11 seasons where he was averaging absurd numbers. And it doesn't get talked about much due to defensive stats not being recorded back then, however Wilt was an Elite defender, and possibly had a quintiple double. Although its just a rumor he had that, the fact it is a rumor in the first place shows that he was an Elite Defender. Wilt has everything: Longevity of his Prime, Quality of his Prime, and 2-Way capabilities. Wilt was an absolute dog, and never get the respect he deserves.
And for the people who say he played plumbers, these are all the big-men (PF/C) that played during his prime that got into the hall of fame (Might of missed some I cant remember them all)

Wilt also notoriously played with bad coaches his entire early career, and once he got a second good player, and a solid coach, he won the championship.
Also, the league's average fg% was low to mid 40s, not a flat 40, meanwhile current NBA teams shoot mid to high 40s on average, so the difference in neglible as its only around 6% at most for many of his seasons. But its still its a difference, but do you know how hard it is to grab 20 rebounds every game? Its hard its why only HOFers are able to do it. Not only that but PG, SG, and SF average rebounds were lower during this time so it was more responsiblity on the PF and C to grab rebounds. Back then they had guys who "specialized" in stuff for each position which is why he literally had to grab that many rebounds.
Also, could you show me where you found that he got mad at his teammates for missing, as when I look it up nothing comes up. And "His teams did better when he scored less" because he got older, and he was still putting up insane stats until he was 32 and you could even say 34, so of course hes going to score less hes an old man. The fact he got better teammates at the tail end of his career and won a title during that time has almost no correlation to averaging less points due to age. Also don't forget he still won FMVP while being at the tail end of his career, and was able to win that championship due to having his first star teammate Jerry West on his team (Yeah the NBA logo guy) because he averaged 26 & 10 a game. He also had a good coach this year in Bill Sharman. He was also able to win a championship in 1966-67 (A year where according to you he was stat padding) because he finally was able to beat the stacked celtics.
Yes, he often lost in the playoffs. Yes he put up absurd stats and was able to win a ring after reducing his stats. But the context of the situation you stated need to be looked into to reveal what type of player he truly was. The only thing I kind of agree with that you hinted as was that he had an ego, but other than that everything you said was opinion and story based or an out of context stat.

The pace was dumb high
@@coolmandidit3582 the nba was significantly different back then. The pace of play was extremely high, but efficiency was at an all time low. This was because teams were essentially shot chucking without an offensive game plan. If you compare the nba team’s points per game average back then to todays, in the 1962 season it was only 8 ppg higher. Coupled with the fact that you couldn’t even back someone down in the post in that era, and you’ll begin to see that wilt’s 50 ppg season is legit.

The thing about Jordan’s prime was that, yeah, his prime included the 3-peats but at the same time, you could argue his best seasons where he was solo squadding teams way harder in the 80s, despite team success. LeBron on the other hand, could still make an argument that his best season statistically was last year and you could go as far back as like 2007/2008 for a best season. Dude is like near 38 years old and still is carrying.

Curry being just an honorable mention is absurd. First, he's a much better defender than he gets credit for. Second, his offensive impact is so outrageous that he makes more of a total impact on the game than almost anyone else in NBA history.
Not even mentioning Bird is frankly unforgivable. It may have been shorter than most of the others due to injury, but between 1980-81 and 1987-88 he won 3 Championships, a 4th finals appearance, 2 finals MVPs, 3 MVPs and averaged 25.5 pts/10.2 reb/6.2 assists/1.8 steals/.9 blocks.

@@VVVY777 first of all, Kobe in 2006 averaged 35,5 points in 5th lowest scoring season of all time, teams averaged only 97 points that season and Kobe's scoring % was higher than Jordan's scoring% in his 3rd season when he averaged 37 points and only Wilt Chamberlain had higher scoring% than Kobr in 2006 when he averaged 50 and 40 points per game. Kobe in his prime had 4 games in a row with over 50 points per game, that's something that nobody has done in the history and nobody will ever done (btw he had 5 or 6 games in a row with 45+ points), he had 9 games in a row with over 40 points per game which is also most in NBA history (tied with Michael Jordan), he had 6 games from 2000 to 2006 when he had 50 points after three quarters and of all those 6 games, only once he played in forth quarter and guess what?? If he played whole game against Dallas in 2006 when he outscored the entire Dallas team in three quarters, he would finish that game with 90 points easily because he had 10 more points in that game in 3rd quarter than he had against Raptors. Despite all of that, Kobe in his prime played also great defense all the time, in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008... Those years he played elite defense, which means he was two way player. Kobe is also probably the most underrated two way player in the history of the NBA. Last time when some player averaged 30 points per game and made all defensive first team was Kobe in 2007. Before that, it was Kobe in 2006, before that, it was Kobe in 2003... Enough said.

We're talking about peak play. MJ accomplished more and dominated more in a shorter time frame than LeBron so how can LeBron have a higher peak? Playing at a lower level for a longer time is not a better peak.
We should also consider circumstances. The first 7 years lebron spent in Cleveland stunted his legacy massively.

MJ had cokeheads as teammates. LeBron's first stint in CLE, he had a top 5 team in defense. When Jordan had that kind of a team, they went deep in the Playoffs and won a ring. Just sit down.

He handpicked his teams every year, robbing his conference competition of good players to add to his team, then he dominated them. When he faced real teams in the Finals, he mostly lost. You're ignoring Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Isaiah Thomas, Anthony Davis and he even stacked the bench with Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard.
Secondly, MJ led his team to 72 wins, 69 wins and then followed that up with a 62 win season with Pippen missing almost half the season. He won two 3-peats. LeBron has repeated only once and never 3-peated. MJ had a chokehold on the league. LeBron has never dominated the league the way MJ did. Those are facts.

I think "Prime" in this video is used badly and so the conclusion does not make sense - I don't think that LBJ is in his actual prime lately because he is no longer a good defender consistently and when we talk about the GOATS, if you are not in discussion of being in top 3 at the time, you are not in your PRIME, so we should consider the PRIME of a select player's career, not the years where his stats would be considered PRIME for most others... I actually would take Shaq because even though his true prime was shorter, the dude was a beast like no other, but MJ was more efficient, so also a legit choice 🤔
He hasn't been a good defender over last few years but to average 30 PPG at age 37 is still unthinkable for somebody "out of their prime"

EXCELLENT ANALYSIS. Btw, why isn't WILT in this discussion. His prime was as long as Magic's and his peak was as high as anybody's.
Also, people FORGET that the NBA added 6 TEAMS in 8 years during MJ's prime. This is HUGE. Adding that many teams AUTOMATICALLY means that ALL teams were qualitatively weaker - giving up players to staff the expansion teams. In terms of expansion, BY FAR, LeBron's career has been the least expanded and therefore the most impressive.

I grew up watching the Miami LeHeat team, and I can I say that was the greatest prime in NBA history. He won back to back championships, the way pummels his opponents when he gets to the rim ( talking about you Jason Terry), he won back to back NBA Finals MVP and won back to back MVP’s, he was on the NBA all defensive 1st team and 2end team with the Heat, and has made 4 championship appearances with the Heat. Kobe from 2006 to 2009 is better than Bird and Magic and if you talk about Lebron... For me Kobe from 2006 to 2009 and Lebron from 2013 to 2016 were equally impressive, just on different ways. Lebron was very complete player, he was extremely efficient, great scorer, great passer, great rebounder, but Kobe's scoring from2006 to 2009 was insanee, he could beat your team alone in his prime, he has one of the most impressive scoring records ever those 4 years and he was also an elite defender. The difference is that Lebron had Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh and Kobe didn't.

I’m going to be honest, I subscribed for a reason but I disagree with everything on this list.

Every player on list has had help, but when someone like Magic has another top ten player of all time on their team for most of their career, they better win five championships. Bird had some top 75 players on his team, but won 3 chips against a more stacked LA squad, and had 3 consecutive mvps, finishing at least 2nd for 6 straight.
Curry’s prime is unmatched with his efficiency, it LITERALLY changed the whole game of basketball. That cannot be stated more emphatically.

Idk man, I would value longevity if it was longevity of winning. But in way less time, Jordan accomplished more. Being the best player on a team that wins a championship is simply the most important factor when determining greatness, and Lebron's talent does not surpass Jordan's in a way that would lead me to override a ring argument. Even if they had the same number of rings I still honestly would favor Jordan, but the fact that MJ has 2 more means I can't really give Lebron the nod here.
What I'd say is Jordan had the greatest peak prime ever and LeBron had the longest prime although I think MJ would have contended for longest prime if he didn't retire like 3 times

@@br-um5xu Well, I do think that 11 rings does make for a pretty convincing argument for Bill Russel. Notably, there were way fewer teams in his time though so the road to a championship was easier, and he was not really am elite 2 way player. Jordan Lebron and Duncan were all elite on both ends of the court. That being said, Jordan has the most rings out of all of them, has better numbers (at least per game numbers,) and in my opinion, looks the best on the eye test. But I definitely think Bill Russel is a fair answer, it's hard to fault someone for the era they played in.
IMO LeBron had the greatest prime right before and when he firstwent back to cleveland. (2013-2018). He was elite in every aspect in the game, and looked like the best player ever.
Edit: LeBron has been playing at a level that could be considered his “Prime” from 2004-2019, and is still elite, but those years I’d consider the peak of his prime.
