- The Los Angeles light rail system has 5 lines and covers a large portion of Los Angeles. It is part of Metro specifically MetroRail which is the company who manages public transit in LA. It uses 3 different types of rolling stock on the lines. Each train has a distinct livery for example the Kinki Sharyo P3010 has a yellow and silver livery while the Ansaldo Breda P2550 has a grey and silver livery. Metro is currently building a light rail tunnel through downtown LA to connect lines A and E at 7th Street to the L line at Little Tokyo. Once this tunnel is complete the L line will be split between the A and E lines. The E line will take the gold color of the L and take the south end of the line while line A will retain it's color and take the northern part of the line. The newest and most common LRV on the system is the Kinki Sharyo P3010 running on every line including the newest, line K. The light rail system in LA is the most heavily used in the US and is going to be expanded in the near future. It is much cleaner than the subway and I do reccomend it to anyone who needs it. Enjoy the video :)

So nice to take a break from new metro™️ and head back old [M] and hear a good old green line station announcement :)
I was riding a p3010 number 1200 in the gold line heading to Azusa. I believe most 1200s 3010 trains belong in the k line.
This is correct. When the K Line opened, 1200 was on the K Line and got transferred to the A Line when the Regional Connector was almost close to its opening stage.
I’m not used to seeing so much light rails lol I’m from a city where it’s mostly subways
Haha yeah LA has lots of light rail
It's because the distances are so vast and we have good weather so it's less expensive to build light rail so it makes sense for LA though we are expanding our subways too. However, we see it just as one Metro system.
Amazing Los Angeles express tram
Very very nice video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great shots 👍 Keep up the good work
great video!!!!

I love the video but I have to say that I have always just hated the Kinki Shario p3010
Why is that? They look a lot more modern and upscale than comparable trainsets...
@@speakingofgreg they are just everywhere yk?
Metro purple line is out of the chat😊
both the B and D lines are subway lines so I made them a seperate video, this is for light rail.
@@Transport_Internationalcan you make the same video from with the b and d line please
The world other trains are Subway's kind of😅
They're both like subways kind of😅
Metro red line has left the chat
Both subway lines are in a separate video called ”LA metro compilation“
You missed many stations of the L line including all the ones in East LA and the ones further East in the SGV.
Yup, I unfortunately didn't have enough time to go all the way out there. If I go back I'll be sure to check it out
@@Transport_International No problem. It's just that the title of your video then is misleading. Things will change significantly after June 16th when the L, E, and A lines get reconfigured by the opening of the Regional Connector.
I live in norwalk
HEY
l line got replaced by a & e...
Yeah ik but the video was made before the opening of the regional connector.
