- The New York City subway is the metro system with the most stations in the world making it the busiest subway system in North America. It opened in 1904 with the IRT Broadway-Seventh Avenue line. Originally, the subway was managed by multiple different enterprises. The IRT (Interborough Rapid Transit) IND (Independent Subway System) and BMT (Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit Corporation). Most of the system was built in the 1900s but the most recent expansion was the first phase of the Second Avenue Subway line. The rolling stock varies in age with the oldest one being the R44s and R46s built in the 1970s. The newest trains are the R211s which are meant to replace both R44 and R46 trains. The MTA also has numerous plans to make quality of life improvements to the subway, such as the implementation of new fare gates and CBTC signaling. The system consists of 9 trunk lines plus shuttles and the Staten Island Railway. These trunk lines are color coded and the routes of each line are numbered or lettered. The fare per ride is 2.75$ which is an average price for an American subway system. The system is phenomenal and I would consider it the best mode of transit in New York. I definitely recommend taking the subway if you visit New York. Enjoy the video :)

The A train riding on the elevated tracks with the view of Rockaway beach, the ocean, is the absolute best.
I wanted to go but the rock away branch was closed on my visit 😭
I only need the A to west 4th and Fulton or Dykman if I went uptown or to BK. I just loved living in Manhattan. The D for the Bronx and the BX 49 if it was the bus . If I went to Yankee stadium walk then cross the McCombs bridge. Awesome.
There is nothing in this world that can equal the sound of a New York subway train - especially the D line. 💙
EXACTLY!
2 words : jubilee line
And you are right
@@mewkid2011cringegaming that’s the best train sound brings back memories of me going to high school taking the tube
You can’t go wrong with hearing the beautiful brake sound
God, I love these sounds.
Wish I were there.😢
I don't know why I feel that a person who is new to the city can get lost in the subway 😅
Excellent video!
The subway definetly takes some getting used to 😂. Thank you!
@@Transport_InternationalIt really does.
i love train vids and you youtubers make my day
what an impressive and cool video transport international!!!!
Great video! I love the D train of all trains
I must add another comment if I may: All the cars on all the lines look so clean & polished. I especially love our FLAG that is on them. It never was on them when I rode them years ago.😪
Today, the New York Subway System is, in my estimation, just outstanding.
Even all the stations. Whoever was in charge you all did a beautiful job.
I 💙 NEW YORK. 🗽
The best transit city in North america

In all seriousness, I agree with you both.

I can never get enough of these NEW YORK SUBWAY VIDS. NEVER NEVER NEVER.🧱🚉🇺🇸 NYC 💙
Line M has the same VVVF as Alstom Metropolis of Warsaw.
2:29 This is where I was born and raised at. Brownsville, Brooklyn, NY (Mike Tyson also grew up here). The 16 story Housing Projects on the left of Rockaway Station is called the Tilden Houses were I was raised in, the 7 story houses on the right is called Riverdale Houses and the housing around the station on both sides below are called Marcus Garvey Village. The 3 Train all day. 16:23 This is also in Brownville & East New York, Brooklyn at Livonia Ave (The 3 Train runs along Livonia Ave and goes over the The L Train at this Station). The L Train all day. Brownsville stand up!
Woow beautiful how many lines have NYC?
It can be considered to have up to 13 lines if we’re only counting coloured trunk lines, shuttles, and the Staten Island railway. However if we’re considering routes (numbers and letters) plus the 3 shuttles and SIR, there are 29 lines
THIS IS A SOUTH FERRY BOUND 1 TRAIN THE NEXT STOP IS 125 ST
Somehow the (6) train station is my childhood station 🤯
Прикольное видео! +++😃😃😃
Joli vidéo 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 mais tu pourras faire le métro de Milan stp
Si j’ai l’opportunité je peut le faire mais jsp quand j’aurais la chance d’aller.
STAND CLEAR THE CLOSING DOORS PLEASE🗣🗣🗣

Bing bong

I can smell this video
😭
Yes! Totes forgot about that! Ugh!
They should come up with an Ñ train.
Yep!
Lol!
That be useless and unnecessary
Theres is already a N train.
What would you say are your favorite nyc subway lines based off your knowledge and experience? (Shuttles & SIR included)
The 7 would be in first place for me. Super convenient and the line only has 7 trains on it so its easy to use. The G would be in second because it is the only line that doesn't go through Manhattan providing some convenient connections. For third place I'd say the 1 train or the 4 train because of its connectivity. For the 1 I also really like the WTC station. This is just my opinion from a tourist's perspective and I'm sure other people will have different insights on this.
@@Transport_International My favorites would be the 7 & L because of its connectivity in Manhattan and how reliable they are in their respective boroughs (Brooklyn for L & Queens for 7). The G is also there because of its convenient connections it has through Queens in Brooklyn to other lines that go to Manhattan. The 1 & 4 are also there because the 1 is very useful through the West Side of Manhattan since it goes from the northern tip of Manhattan at Marble Hill all the way to the southern tip which is South Ferry. The 4 because of its use in the Bronx and the East Side of Manhattan. It’s also very fast through Manhattan and Brooklyn running express. The 4, 7, L, & G trains get bonus points because they run my favorite rolling stocks/models which are the R142A, R143, R188, & R160. Rolling stocks are a huge reason into liking lines as well. The 1 receives bonus points because this line has the most unique stations out of any other line. Stations are South Ferry, Cortlandt-WTC, 125th Street, Dyckman St, 191st Street, & much more! My ranking is the 7, L, 4, 1, & G. If I was to include shuttles and SIR, the 42nd Street Shuttle would be my second favorite because of its connectivity. Especially when a passageway to the Bryant Park station opened during it’s improvement project. Providing more transfers in Times Square. The Staten Island Railway would be my favorite because of its use in Staten Island and because of its uniqueness. You see a great view of the Borough through the whole journey. Meaning that you aren’t underground on tunnels. It also runs like a commuter rail. What’s also special about the Staten Island Rail is that you only have to pay to get in or off at only the two northern stations. (St. George & Tompkinsville) The rest of the stations are fare free. I’m also excited to see the R211’s added to the train. That’s my ranking. Final ranking.
Only Subway 7 (1st), L (2nd), 4 (3rd), 1 (4th), & G (5th)
Shuttles and SIR included
SIR (1st), 42nd St Shuttle (2nd), 7 (3rd), L (4th), & 4 (5th).
Always the D line.
💙
A , it goes to the 3 boroughs.
Guess I’m a metro line now
just u last the z line that not in your video
I didn’t include express lines in this video unfortunately but If I remake the video I’ll be sure to include them
Hi guys are we doing dinner tonight or Sunday night for lunch 🥙
🚇🗽🎭🇺🇸
Where is the Z train Try making an updated version recorded during rush hours
I am planning to do an updated version with all the express service like the Z or the however during this visit I didn’t have the chance to see them all which is why they weren’t included in the video.
Rolling stock currently an active R46 R62 R62A R68 R142 R142A R143 R160 R179 R211
The r. 142 has short cars
Yeah the trains used on the IRT lines are smaller in width and length than those used on BMT and IND lines
Subway
Это жестяные банки с калесиками
Well I can understand your point of view. Moscow has the most beautiful metro in the world that I've seen with their new ultra modern trains.
Look at the older MTA trains they look less like actual cans (for reference search up R29, R11,R15,R33 etc)
No Z train?😮
The Z is an express line and as I unfortunately didn't get the chance to see all of the express lines none were included. When I remake the video Ill be sure to include all of the express services though.
Subway saer
