B minor E9--another lightbulb moment from the online filament doctor.I love these wakeup calls. And the jam is fun too! Thanks Amazing One! Stay Well.
Haven’t played in a couple years, this one got me playing again, thanks!
Love seeing you heading towards dead tutorials man! Keep going, pls!
I've been playing for a long time, but I'm still learning, and you're a good teacher. Thank you
Yessss another Dead style lesson!! Love it, the grooves just, "steal my face" dare i say ahaha 👏🏻💯
My brother (Dead Head) will be glad I've got something to play for him to "jam" to. Now I'll finally have something! Thanks Brian
Lots of good info in this. Especially like the tip of picking one chord at a time and really tackling it all over the neck before moving to the next
You have a great way of explaining the rhythm, Brian, I love the way you break it down and de-mystify it ;)
Thanks Brian as a longtime professional drummer I really love playing this
Thanks a bunch. I'm writing a jam album, to test my limits, and this helped out a lot.
Having fun with that one ! Thanks again!
Awesome Lesson. Easy to understand. I believe I can do this!!!
Love you're lessons!
Loving these Grateful Dead lessons Brian! Just what I’ve been looking for, for a while now. Keep em coming!
One of the best lesson on YT.
Really great lesson, just what I needed.
Went to a big jam band thing last night. Desperately needed this lesson to get me playing anything other than the root chord.
Another great lesson, Brian! Really nice expansion on the Jerry lesson from a couple days ago. Garcia was such an incredible musician and was super-accomplished as a rhythm player, as well as being a phenomenal improviser and lead player. With the Dead's rhythm section, along with Bob Weir's subtle-but-awesome playing, they took their music wherever it wanted to go. Thanks for shedding some light on a few of their building blocks! 👍🎸😀🎵
This was a really fun lesson! Lots of good ideas for jamming, like you said.
Great stuff Brian! Last 2 lessons you hit it out of the park!!
Best teacher ever!
Man i learned so much from you, fantastic!
Killer lesson once again. Thanks Brian.
Great rhythm shapes, easy theorie explanation as usual! The rhythm matches to your new VG30 Jerry Garcia lead lesson. I am happy to be a Premium member so I have all tabs! Denise
Great stuff! This guys a fantastic instructor
I really enjoy learning your video thanks
Thanks for this lesson Brian! I found it very helpful and enlightening!
Outstanding lesson, Sir! 🙏
Супер 👍
Thanks Brian!!!
Brilliant again Brian. As the video was playing, I was just thinking why the middle chord in the A fill ...and you said " I bet you wonder why there's a B minor between the two A chords shapes" . Reading our minds now? And you're spot on!!! Brilliant and it's a great easy fill as you say.
So great and full
This is great ,thanks
Great lesson, as always.
Thanks Brian, rhythm is my favorite!
Great as always. Thanks. I still find myself playing a lot of rhythm parts (even though I'm considered the lead player in the groups I play with) these rhythm lessons are just great; The little things make all the difference-- the I to the II, for example. At any rate, thanks again.
You're an amazing teacher and I like the way you cancelled out the haters on the B minor v D9 thing :)
Awesome guitar skills, nice job 🎸🎵
So basic and so nice Brian.
Thank you Brian.
Really nice !
Love it go on 👍👍👍
This was really fun and easy to learn even for a beginner like myself, thanks!
Good theory too 👍
I love studying BB'S BOX, but I wish some one would make a video on some of the boxes Jerry spent most of his time. Please create one!
thanks
Nice to hear you play a rhythm section. By the way l won't be on the forum for a bit, doing a cycling tour here in Japan.
Have fun, Pete! :)
Excellent lesson Brian. I like your use of the drum analogy - it often occurs to me that being a drummer (I'm not) would be a great advantage to being a guitarist.
Dave Grohl 🤘 amazing on drums and one of my favourite rock rhythm guitarists!
@@shaunmacey6137 Absolutely!
Dave Grohl is great example, and is one of the GOAT's in my opinion. There's a CZcams video where he talked about how he wrote "The Pretender" on his guitar by looking at it like a drum set. The other example is Prince.... He was a drummer converted to guitar player.
@@scottrempel7243 Very interesting. Great musician. 👍🏻
Just found your videos Brian. Im starting out with guitar/music and know very little about scales, theory, Caged, circles of 5ths. It all seems a lil intimidating to be honest. Everytime I watch anyone's video I keep hearing terms I am not familiar with.
Any advice on a linear approach to learning about music on the guitar? I know one bar chord and a handful of 1st few fret open chords.
Thanks so much for your videos!
Great lesson, I wondered why you started with a full A major bar chord major rather a 4 string & 4 String D grip rather than just the triad.
Bouncing off the 4, Bo diddly, Buddy Holly, Steve Cropper, others.
Hey Brian do you have any content on how you make your Jam tracks?
Dead ringer for "Hand Jjve" ---- The Band
I freestyled to this
I own 2 GD albums. 1969 / Live Dead & American Beauty 1970. Like new. I stopped LSD after 2 bum trips. The Dead just played on and on and on. How about John Mayall, please. Heading to Patreon.
I know it’s “potato-potahto”, but I’d consider the 2-chord in the first fill to more of a D6 chord, which keeps with the I-to-IV-I theme
Yes. You are right. 👍
I wish my lead guitarist would watch this
I think you forgot to mention the name BOB WEIR
Bob Weir got better as a rhythm guitarist and held up his end to support Jerry’s lead.
Who thumbs down this?
i will sign up for $10 a month or $69 a year but when click on the link it is $12 a month or $89 a year. Brian emailed me back. No can do, Mark. i replied, when a business posts a price, it is honored! what a shame
