Brother Man you are very good at this. Ive been playing for about 17 years with a style very similar to your own, always amazes me how even on subjects that I'm very fluent with hearing it articulated by someone else always puts the lesson in a different light and is very constructive. Appreciate you Buddy

And yet another absolutely wonderful lesson in a string of virtual gems from one of my favorite channels! Thanks Brian! A lot of this reminded me of one of my very favorite acoustic guitar albums of all time. Where you can hear just how far you can take this knowledge/technique and create incredibly beautiful and sophisticated lines and phrases! Nuff said, I'd like to recommend this album to everybody! I'm talking about "Markology" from the one and only Mark O'Connor. I've been enjoying this album for over 40 yrs. now and it still knocks me out to this day!!! Pay particular attention to "Picking in the Wind" and "Fluid Drive".

I’ve been playing guitar on and off since 1971. Of course when I first started, I wanted to play nothing but rock. However, my guitar teacher, considered one of the best guitarists in NE Ohio at the time, taught basically jazz and country. When I was first learning, I would strum first position chords and chord changes and my teacher would play over top of me doing exactly what you show in your lesson. I always wondered how the heck he did what he did and how did he know how to do it. Then he would write out melodies for me to play using more sophisticated chords up and down the neck - barre chords, dig outs, 7th style chords, etc. but I had no idea how he came up with the stuff. Now I have the explanation! Thank you for this wonderful lesson!
