For all the extra stuff they added, I’m surprised they didn’t really give Ikutsuki more to work with. Which is a shame, cause his line at 2:41:30 is basically all we have as a motive for him.
Might’ve been redundant to other things in the game, but maybe he should’ve given some comments here and there about the state of the world. Global warming, hunger, that sort of stuff. Have him hang around the TV when it’s showing terrible news.
Hell, if they really wanted to, they could’ve even tied his puns into it by making it more clear that they reflect his facade: terrible, surface-level jokes meant to wring out the smallest amount of joy he can muster as a short-term means of distracting himself from his nihilism.
