    To me Miep embodies everything that is best about humanity; bravery, compassion and loyalty.
    The evil Nazis crumbled; they could not overcome people like Miep.

    Mrs. Miep Gies had so much integrity. Helping those when she didn't have to but she did what was right even if it put her in harms way. She also respected everyone's privacy. Not reading letters or opening packages she handed back and forth to separated lovers & then holding onto Anne's diary for so long & not ever reading it either until Anne's father Otto invited her to look upon it. What a beautiful woman.

    This is only one story out of millions. I don't think I will ever be able to grasp the scale of the second world war, and I don't think I'd want to.

    Dearest Miep. I've thought of you equally as much over all the years since I first read Anne's Diary as a child. It's because of you, the diary was collected, safeguarded and presented to Otto Frank so the world would know these people. Rest in Peace dear Lady. You're with your husband and friends and relatives again. Thank you!

    I put off reading Anne Frank's diary for a long time too -- because I thought it would just make me too sad. When I heard about Miep's death, I decided it was finally time. I'm reading it now, and enjoying it very much. God bless you, Miep. Now you can see the Frank family again.

    This is one of the most awesome interviews I've ever listened to. Thank you for uploading it. May JESUS CHRIST continue to bless, direct, and guide you along HIS narrowing path enduring all until HE calls us home, one by one, in one way or another. Mrs. Gies, I pray you and all who've traveled the narrow way rest in the LORD and the LORD in you.

    @kerinapetshop. If Anne Frank hadn't become famous, if she survived and lived and died a regular person would people still feel the same love for her and her story? She was a remarkable person and its sad how sometimes the words of the unknown are unheeded. Anne represents the fact that every person has a story to tell. Its only remarkable if we have the common sense to truly sit up and listen. Thank you for sharing your soul with us Anne.

    This poor girl didn't ever get that chance! She never got that release...you and I need to commit acts of FREEDOM and ABANDON for her!!!
    Within legal reason, we need to satisfy Anne Frank's joy goal(s)...it is something we ALL need to do!!! Just think about Anne...take her along on your ride and THINK about her as you do your fun stuff!

    • @somehaloguy9372
      @somehaloguy9372 Před 4 lety

      Anne always wanted to be a writer. She wanted to get famous from writing and being a journalist. When they were in hiding she did make a special version of her diary detailing the life in the secret annex that was meant to be more public so that after they came out she could give it to the news people so the world could know how they survived the war and what living in that place was like.
      Idk if she would've publicized everything in her diary if she made it but I know she would've definitely made a few books about it and a lot of interviews

  • @TheAlysheba
    @TheAlysheba Před 13 lety

    @imacceptingbut I agree, and I feel that Anne, in her wisdom, knew they were all in the midst of the darkest, most evil shadow imaginable. Hope may have flickered in and out of her heart. Still, I feel her writing kept her sane in a life of fear and misery.
    She wrote of the hope still alive in her heart, although it was unlikely they'd make it, what she would have liked and to just somehow be remembered, if only 1 person read Kitty. Yes, we should carry Anne w/ us. RIP, Anne and all that died.

  • @TheAlysheba
    @TheAlysheba Před 13 lety

    @imacceptingbut You're so right. Anne's hope wasn't just to survive, really. I'm sure there were times when glimmers of it came and went, as when D day came. Still, I truly believe Anne knew she was a girl amongst the most evil, darkest shadow imaginable; something I think she, in her wisdom, knew she couldn't escape.
    I feel she wanted to be remembered; kept herself sane by writing of day to day life in the annex, expressed the dreams that were all she had left and what would have been.
