ThermoPop 2 now shares the same speed rating of 2-3 seconds with Classic Thermapen. However, Classic Thermapen is still more accurate at ±0.7° F and has the ability to show tenths of a degree throughout the entire temperature range.
A question for you, ThermoWorks: will Thermopop 2 be any thicker/bulkier than the previous model? We "hang" our thermometers on the wire rack at work, but the thermopop would always slip through compared to the other thermometers.
ThermoPop 2 has a larger display than the original ThermoPop and we were able put it in a thinner profile. It sounds like that might not meet your specific needs. The waterproof feature will make it so much easier to wash and the larger screen is so good.
