While we wait for new developments we take the opportunity to clear out all remaining areas in the wilderness. Both for completion as well as for the Magical Prison quest which I still have not forgotten :D
The main event of this episode though, is mr. Ilthuliak, the Black Dragon. This guy is dangerous and he also lives in the most dangerous area of the map with some particularly horrible ambushes...

One minor thing, when traveling in the over world map, Lore Nature is what is used to determine random encounters and evading those random encounters. This is changed in wotr to Stealth.

Oh for real? Lol then I've been doing this wrong all this time. I imagine I got that impression from WotR at some point. It's a good thing that Coredumpina has a very high nature score then!

​@@CoredumpedGaming If you read the Lore (Nature) skill's description it specifically states that ''This skill represents a character's knowledge about the natural world. Your character's Lore (Nature) skill enables you to hunt, identify monsters, recall knowledge about dungeons or nature, skin the dead animals, - avoid random encounters - and so on". =)

My friend you are totally right and I should actually read the skills in the game xD It's one of those things where you get used to something in WotR and then just assume it works the same here. But you know what they say about assumptions :p

I don't know about being locked out of quests, but I find it prudent to visit the Castle of Knives early, not just for the quests but IIRC you can speed up the main quest, which can be useful since the kingdom events in this chapter can get annoyingly difficult. Also regarding the ambushes, you will only get each one once, so I'm usually OK with finding them.
About the dragon fight. "Pretty decent damage"? You don't say. :D it didn't even get to do anything. Also, nice loot. Fitting for a dragon's lair.

Uh, I had no idea about the speeding up of the main quest or that the ambushes were one time only... I feel like I was ambushed there constantly (maybe I just hate them so much that even one or two feel like hundreds to me xD).
The loot is quite cool for this area indeed, I like the whole dragon's hoard thing eheh

@@CoredumpedGaming Tbh, I'm not perfectly sure about speeding up the main quest, it's a vague recollection. I'm reasonably sure about the ambushes though, since I once tried to get the Survivor achievement (100+ random encounters) by walking around in the Thousand Voices since everywhere else had the random encounter chance reduction, and at some point nothing happened any more and I couldn't get it. I only got it later by starting a new game and more or less walking every possible road on the map.
