Great idea @MichaelLim. The question I have is: When you added the aluminum foil wrapper to the cylinders, the dull side of the foil was facing outward. If the shiny side was facing outward, the inside of the baked bread coil might have baked better. Yes or no? You’re a great Master baker, am trying to understand the process. Many thanks.
I can confirm that in the video, the shiny side of the aluminum foil is indeed facing outward when wrapping the ring. The perception that it wasn't may be due to the butter layer, which can make it appear less shiny. I would recommend you watching the video again to see the steps in detail, which might provide better clarity.
As for the effect on baking, while some believe that the shiny side might reflect heat better, in practice, the difference is typically minimal. The orientation of the foil is not likely to significantly impact the baking quality of the bread coil. I hope this clarifies your question. Happy baking!
