In this episode, Did You Know Gaming takes a look at some facts, secrets, Easter eggs and history of Simpsons Games. The Simpsons is an animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for Fox. The series focuses on the Simpson family, consisting of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie, who live in the fictional town of Springfield. There's been nearly 30 Simpsons games, and through our analysis of the games, their gameplay and beta builds, we expose some interesting secrets.

Humorously enough, that's often the case with such companies. The people who portray themselves so often as being mature and adult are usually the least mature about such matters.
Rockstar sucks ass. GTA 5 may have made a ton of money. But making online a grind, micro transactions, and never developing anything for single player, the game sucked.
+Aaronlcyrus gtav had a killer story, albeit rushed a little. I agree that the online mode leaves a bad enough taste in your mouth to cover up everything good about the single player, but if you played it just for the single player like I did there's still plenty of nostalgia to be made

Great to see a mention of Bill Williams. I've been a huge fan of his games since I was a kid playing his Atari stuff. I was sad to find out about his passing when the internet came along. So many great, unique games

I remember the arcade version. We had one in the local pizza shop. It was the kind of shop that never advertised, but was always packed anyway because all the locals knew about it, and all the school sporting events had pre- or post-game parties there. Damn good pizza, too.

I never knew Bill Williams was behind Bart's Nightmare. Played it all the time when I was a kid, and while it did have quite a few flaws (most likely due to the corporate meddling that ran Bill off of games entirely), I still felt Bill's genius shining through, even before I'd known who he even was. Very bizarre, I'd even say underrated, game.

My favorite thing in *Simpsons: Hit & Run* was Homer line (while kicking people) "I keep making God madder and madder…" ESPECIALLY when combined with Flander's "I suffer for your sins."

I loved Virtual Springfield as a kid. Played it probably as often as I played Hit and Run.
I bought Simpsons Arcade on the PS3 and I’m still able to download it.
So glad I’m able to preserve it….. for now.
I forget where I heard this, but I once heard that the SNES game Virtual Bart was the first game to have the show's cast come in and record original dialog, as opposed to just reusing old audio clips from the show.

SImpsons hit and run first few levels were gold, after that, the game became really frustratingly hard while just using the first 4 levels again.

The doom game refrence in simpsons virturil springfield, would later be refrence in the EDDSWORLD game: BANG, BOOM, SPLAT. ( Another Licensed game but on the internet ).
In the avgn episode, he said Bart vs the space mutants was kinda like the movie they live. I never got what that meant until I found out just now "they live" is a name of a movie...
Virtual Springfield was perhaps the best entry. Incredible game you could get lost in for hours!
One more easter egg about rabbits. Attacking trees in the Simpsons arcade game gave a chance to produce fruit that would heal the player. If they kept attacking the tree, a rabbit would appear holding a sign saying no items were left.

Cystic fibrosis is such a horrendous disease. A former student of mine recently passed away from at the age of 19. I taught her when she was 16/17. So sad how their life expectancy reduces so drastically :(

After being removed, Tapped Out was rereleased with most of the bugs fixed, and essentially led to freemium mobile titles inspired by it like SpongeBob Moves In and Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff, which, like Tapped Out, use an isometric perspective, potentially due to Tapped Out's perspective being similar to SimCity 2000 and SimCity 3000, which EA made years before Tapped Out's release and eventual rerelease.

Honestly, Tapped Out is pretty good at not shoving microtransactions down your throat. I've only spent a few dollars on it, and I still have a fairly robust town. You get a lot of free characters and buildings from the events that happen every 2 months or so.

the classic Simpsons games were all awesome back in the day. I remember I was like age 5-6 and going to the 711 store to get soda, candy, free 711 stickers, and then play the Simpsons arcade game. it was even more fun when me and my friends would find money lost underneath the 711 counters. $1, $5, $10, $20!!! and always found coins.
It would have been funnier if the Grand Theft Itchy And Scratchy sign waste places with a sign showing The Simpsons: Hit And Run.

Despite what people say about Tapped Out, i still play it. It's mostly one of those games were you should usually check on it once in while & it's premium stuff is optional.
Grand Theft Krusty? Wouldn't Grand Theft Otto have made more sense? Not only does it work as a pun, but he's the Simpsons character most associated with a vehicle. He's behind the wheel of a school bus in the majority of the episodes he's in.

The Doom Mini-game in Virtual Springfield was called "Apu-m" (Apu + Doom)
The Simpsons Game was the first game to really show me how creative and clever of a medium video games had the potential to be. I had no idea you could recreate Springfield and run around in it via video games, or create the crossover I always wanted of Futurama and Simpsons. Things that seemed impossible to my young mind were shown to be real and possible through video games. I don’t think I’d be the same gamer I am today without The Simpsons Game.

The itchy and Scratchy game is a very underrated game, i spent so many time playing it. Its better than most (or maybe all) of the Bart Simpson games. It needs a remake with 2P Mode.
