- Day 2 of my Motorcycle Road Trip across 6 Scottish islands dawns crisp and clear, as I leave Sealshore Campsite and head off towards the tiny port of Lochranza. Along the way I check out an ancient stone-circle, with a view that's to 'die' for . . .

I will assume it's just pork pies. 😂
I cannot find one in the Seattle area. If anyone knows where they can be found, please share! ❤
Henceforth, "Coffee" will mean "Pork pie" unless otherwise indicated. Ashamed to say that I have never tried one but I am bloody well going to make my own! My decision to attempt my first steak and kidney pie was rather scoffed at by my late wife. Pie crust defied her attempts and she assumed the same for me. I probably transgressed all of the rules but the thing was perfect. The crust was not armourplate, the filling savory and tender. I don't think she ever actually forgave me.

Well Stephen, if you're looking to make a pork pie, you could do worse than trying my own pork pie recipe (unless you've already seen it) 😁 m.czcams.com/video/vWslDGJlGNE/video.html
Yay 🎉
we ditched the TV 4 years ago. Our entertainment is from people like yourself who produce lovely videos for us to watch. Thank you!
Thank you for not adding music to the ride. Gorgeous
Cheers. Yes, I never add music to my videos (except a theme tune) 🙂
@@CountryHouseGent if you ever desire to open an episode with you on the motorway blasting "finding my way", I think we could accept that.
"Someone's been out polishing the water." This is one of the reasons why I so enjoy your videography, Kevin. I had just been thinking how smooth and shiny the bay looked.
Thank you very much for your vlog, at 73 I’ve never been on a motorbike before and I’m really overjoyed at riding on with you, it’s brilliant and the scenery is outstanding once again thank you for taking me with you ❤
Ah I can't think if higher praise. Thank you Margaret and thank you for watching
Enjoying every minute of your trip Kevin, thanks for taking us along on the ride!
I always thought, never having visited, that Scotland would be beautiful and remote, your vlog certainly shows this and captures that beauty for us to see, thank you Kevin for taking us along for the ride. 🤗👍
I read a statistic from somewhere that Scotland and it's Islands are 85% uninhabited, David. Can believe it though thought it was more.
Dear Kevin,
Well done, indeed. I have always found Scotland to be indescribable, but you have succeeded with your camera. I have only been once and do want to go back, with all my heart. Thank you for doing this. Cheers 🏴
Polished water. Wrinkled water. Intensely blue, gorgeous water. And stops along the way to just soak it all in. Absolutely glorious. Thanks, Kevin, for another lovely ride. ❤
Wonderful descriptions you share Kevin and repeated, captured, to remind us @patbrandow water has great resonance and many characteristics indeed. Delightful in totality Kevin, appreciate greatly.
This tour of Arran is essentially planning my summer break for me. Thank you 😁👍
Hi Kevin, My wife and I are long time subscribers to your channel. We enjoy all of your narrowboat videos and we just wanted to let you know that we are also enjoying your Motorcycle Road Trips - Scottish Islands videos. We love being able to see the Scottish scenery and listening to your commentary as you ride along. We are planning on a trip over to the UK in a couple of years, and this has made us want to go now. Thanks Kevin for your videos and taking us along on your trips. Both by narrowboat and motorcycle. Donna and David Sheets, Florida
Thank you so much Donna and David and very happy to hear the riad trip is being enjoyed as much as I did riding it. 🙂
Smart people choose smart destinations where they find other smart people who also choose to limit their exposure to the insanity of a world gone mad. Love the beauty and peace of this unspoiled countryside.
Thank you Mark. Couldn't have put it better myself.
Our only negative experience was in Portree. A beautiful small town but literally bus loads of tourists from all over spoiled it. Unfortunately many restaurants there decide not to serve lunch after 2.00PM. (I thought people were desperate for business post C19) causing long lines at few that did.
We took the obligatory picture of the colour harbour-side properties (after being elbowed aside by a group from somewhere in Europe) and moved on . Fortunately rest of Scotland while many visitors present was not like this.
Well said about the media Kevin.!
Thank you, it's a crazy setup really.
Yes they like to try and brainwash us!
Beautiful scenery. I hope you take us to a pub soon - getting thirsty...
Brilliant Kevin, as per 😊 you are such an inspiration , you've shown that when life trys to pull you down self reflection can show up many dormant dreams and as you pursue them, many more open up! Watching your Videos is truly helping me pursue mine and i truly Thank you for that 🫶🏴
These are great videos! The scenery is stunning (so glad the weather was cooperating). Thank you for making them!
Thank you Karen
Kevin, it’s like a series of picture postcards. Stunning. Thanks for the ride. 🏍️😃👍
Thank you Laura
WONDERFUL Kev just WONDERFUL. Many thanks
As I recall a certain narrowboater once said, Kevin- 'Paradise found' 😉
This series is really uplifting 🏴
Many thanks Mark. Maybe Paradise Found 'Again'?
Thanks for taking us along on this remarkable journey. Wow, just wow. Its my first time on a motorbike! Great work with the filming. And I can practically smell the ocean.
I thoroughly enjoyed your commentary, your videoing, and your choice of what to show us as you made your way on the smooth road and the bumpy road. The place is completely stunning! I’m so glad you’ve decided to do this and share these videos with us. Thanks, Kevin!
Thank you Lynette
Fantastic video yet again Kevin 😊 loving this tour of Scotland and the dramatic scenery. Wow! Incredible.
What a fabulous journey, Kevin! Stunning production quality. Was in North Scotland in '84.
Thank you Eric. I would guess it's hasn't changed at all from back then.
Exactly my feeling!!! When following the media, it´s all negative ,horrid and bad. Not in my world,it isn´t! Looking around me , there are great people, helpful and supportive, warm and charitable. That´s why I don´t watch TV .... Important or relevant news always reach me,sooner or later. My world is happier that way
The great thing about motorcycles is you never get lost, you just discover new and usually better and longer ways of getting from one place to another and then back again. Lovely footage.
Thrilling. That just is about all I can muster. Thank you for showing the stones... some of my family roots are in that area, long time ago.
Many thanks for taking me on such an interesting ride
You're very welcome, cheers 🙂
I'm just back from going around The Mull of Kintyre, loads of quiet coastal B roads, cracking campsites and absolutely jaw dropping stunning scenery .
Stunning, thanks for taking us along.
Friday again. This means Kevin again! Excellent! Looking forward to this❤️
Thank you Danny 🙂
Another great trip with you thanks again 👍👍👌👌👏👏
Your observation regarding the negativity of the media is spot on! The less we listen to them and engage more with nature the better off we are! I loved seeing the sheep. my grandmother raised sheep in Ireland in a setting very similar on Clare Island! Absolutely gorgeous!
I simply love the sparce villages and the pride those residents take in their property.
Cheers Lochranza!
So relaxed now...pinch me please.
Nice production Kevin.
Looks absolutely amazing Kevin, what a place we live in 👌
Definitely not what many picture when thinking of Scotland.
Yes the views are so nice.
Love these vlogs so enjoyable, thanks for taking us with you 👍👍🥰
You're very welcome, thank you.
Thank you, Kevin, for the wonderful scenery, history, and a bit of philosophy! Cheers!
Starting to really enjoy your road trip. Safe travels and till next time...😊
62 miles of pure enjoyment
Great to hear that Wayne.
Absolutely Superb! I first watched this on TV on July 2nd. Just now getting to comment. Spectacular photography and editing. I particularly appreciated your commentary on how the world and people are not as bad as social and regular media make things out to be. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed at the time and it was comforting to hear your take on things. I never knew how little I knew about how fantastic Scotland is. I'm loving the education. Thank You! While you are doing this, I've been getting my boat fix from Narrowboat Will.
You're very welcome Jon, thank you. Yes I hear Will is on the Lancaster at the moment. 🙂
Thanks Kevin, this adventure just gets better and yes The Mighty GS is a big beautiful beast of a mile muncher and if I wanted to go on a long road trip I think that it'd be one that I'd love to do it on. Take care and all the best. Stevie
best series yet, Kevin!! scene after scene of picturesque landscapes -- love the new theme song, thought for a minute there it was you playing slide!!
Ha thank you Larry. Would love to play slide like that.
@@CountryHouseGent you seem to be able to do whatever you try...
This video was stunning. I'm terrified of motorcycles but would so love to go on that tour. I am so thankful to hear your update on the people you have met on your visits. You have made my vision of the future a better one and for that - thank you. Please keep these videos coming! Becky W.
Enjoyed that very much. Thank you 😊
You're welcome Paul
I live on the Isle of Cumbrae, which is opposite Largs. I am very lucky to live on a beautiful island, and I come from Birmingham. Island life suits me fine. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey. Thanks Kevin.
Beautimous. Totally beautimous!
Hello Kevin! What a surprise to see your video pop up in our feed! We watched every one of your narrow boat videos, then just one of your hiking videos, and now after many years we discover you on a motorcycle on a Scottish island! We always enjoyed your boat adventures and commentary, and felt like we got to know you quite well. And this video was like visiting with an old friend after a very long separation. It’s great to see you off on adventure, doing so well. Great video technique as always. Wishing you all the best and hope to catch more of your recent videos. Happy travels! 👍
Thank you so much for watching and following, it's very much appreciated. Please check out my channel for more content uploaded since the end of Season 10. 🙂
Awwww thank you for sharing all the beauty wish i was young again i would love to see the sights from your bike lol tc now Kevin ever in my thoughts 👍🤗
Thank you Kevin for taking the time and trouble to make these videos, it's such a treat to join you on your adventures. My parents used to take us on several holidays a year in the 50's and early 60's Scotland was always on the list of places to go, took my Dad hours to drive from Brum, no motorways then.
You're very welcome, thank you. I remember my Grandmother would avoid motorways like the plague, often spending 9 hours driving 200 miles. At the time I thought she was mad - now I completely get it. 🙂
Thank You Kevin !
I'm a mostly silent viewer..... but I Love your eye and your style man !
sbf
Wow! The reflection on the water takes my breath away. Such a beautiful Island. It's a joy to experience the ride along with you. I love the Cairn. I'm a history nut. Checking out the beauty of a place and its history is my favorite thing to do in a new location. I vote with you both locations are wonderful. Thank you Kevin. Enjoy! See you in the next one. Safe travels
Fabulous to hear that Lisa, thank you
Absolutely stunning Kevin ,and a pleasure to watch my friend !
Thank you Stuart
Great video and lovely views. Made me laugh when you mentioned the bike speed being slow - 35 - that’s lightspeed compared to Aslan! Cheers, Kevin!
I’ve my 9 times traveling around my ancestral home of Scotland I’ve always been peacefully gratified to find the kind of place and people I want to stay with forever. Your trip is absolutely beautiful and inspires me to bring a bike and return!! Thank you Kevin. 😍🤟
Sun, sheep, moving cloud-shadows. Niiiiice.
blooming marvellous!
Absolutely loving these vlogs. I will confess I watch a Netherlands lady and I love the feeling of being on the bike 😂, the scenery in Scotland is stunning, I love it there and so nice to see areas that I would love to live 😊❤
Thank you Jacqueline, great to hear you're enjoying the road trip. Yes I think I know the lady you're talking about. 🤗
So enjoying my ride along on these episodes. Beautiful countryside. And Yes, news makes it seem like the world is falling apart lol. I ignore them. Enjoying watching the beautiful green hills as it iss 109 here in Tucson today, so we are all hibernating. Safe travels
Lovely to see, in good weather. I'm amused by your rose tinted visor, Kevin. I'm sure you'd love the freezing mists, horizontal sleet and endless storms, that winter brings to these parts.
Very true, I've 'enjoyed' riding through Scotland's more traditional weather on more than one occasion. Fortunately the weather this time was incredible. If it had been raining, I imagine my view would've been less rose tinted. 🙂
Hi Kevin. I enjoyed Part Three. The water shots were stunning, so still and blue! You were certainly in a remote part of the island. I’m glad you stopped off to look at the standing stones. Looked like there was some interesting history to read about them. I was concerned at you leaving the bike, but as you said, it was remote. I’m pleased to see from next week’s preview that you got your bacon and eggs! Roll on next Friday.
Awesome, Kevin. Loving it.
What a strikingly beautiful sea- like glass. Lovely holiday “we” are having! 😊
Enjoy!
A pleasure as always 🙂
You’re using the GS ADV for exactly the reason it was designed, exactly the reason it’s been number 1 for 20 years.
If they don’t get it, it’s their problem not ours 👍
I have recently added summer narrowboating to my bucket list but am ready to add a Scottish Isles campervan trip as well. The grey nomads seem quite welcome in those parts.
Really enjoying this series,Kevin.Thank you.
Fabulous to hear that Fred, thank you.
Beautiful lucky Kevin you got the weather as well 👍🏽👍🏽
Cheers Ian. No luck, just good planning. 😁
Hi Kevin. That was a nicely paced ride. The scenery is amazing. Looks like you timed it to avoid the main tourist season 😄Take care. Nick
What fantastic scenery, looks like a great trip. You do, do an excellent job of filming/editing 👍👍
Thank you Mark. Very happy to hear the road trip is being enjoyed. Cheers 🙂
We literally went awwwww in a sad way at the end as it was so good and we have to wait till next week..we could have sat and watched hours worth of your bike ride and the scenery. Roll on next Friday :)
🙂 Always leave them wanting more, said someone, once. 🙂
@@CountryHouseGentthat's what he said, lol.
Glad you are enjoying your trip, the scenery is lovely, great video Kevin.
ive followed your adventures since your 1st trip on your narrowboat.
I really appreciate that, Dougie, thank you
Beautiful views, thank uou
There's something about riding a bike you don't get in a car, that's for sure. The last bike I rode was a monoshock R100RS.
I’m in awe! Stunning!
Amazing video mate… Loving your travels, stay safe
Glad you like them 🙂
My Saturday ritual has been restored. Coffee, toast & CHG. thanks Kevin for your outstanding videos.
Appreciated Andy. Cheers for following and watching.
Beautiful
It's been exciting Kevin !
End of Part 3 already ! So much more exciting if you watch them in big chunks !
I think the Castle would HAVE to be my SUMMER home ! Me and 50,000 other people ! 5555 !
Stay safe Kevin, Travel strong !
Stu xx
The castle's definitely, err, 'colourful' 🤭
@@CountryHouseGent I like the babbling brook though !
Love the countryside !
Stay Countrified !

Fabulous, what a place. What a drive, the BMW appears to lap it up. Looking at my silver bomb proof Merc outside, 20 years old and thinking, it could handle that. It would be testing alone, at my age. Blue horizons. You should couple up with Henroy Cole and do a travel show. Look forward to 4.
Your musing about riding your particular bike model simply because you like it and despite the detractors, reminds me of my parents. They own three different Harley-Davidsons, all softails. Also despite the objections of many other motorcycle riders in their lives.
I think it's a dangerous thing to try and satisfy the expectations of others. You'll always be striving but never succeeding. 🙂 P.S. Harley's are the ultimate riding experience for me.
Fabulous!
Wow.
Thankyou so much for filming and sharing your videos. Amazing. ❤️
Really enjoying your series visiting Scotland's islands. Looks so beautiful. Thanks for taking the time to document your travels.
Just returned to my N Irish home from 4 days in the Oxfordshire/Cotswolds area on my hard-tail HD trike. I thought it was gorgeous there (so it was) but you've inspired me to broaden my horizons a little further to the rugged North of Scotland and her islands. I discovered last week that I had actually forgotten how the menu on my TV works because I spend free time watching creators like you. The purr of the GS is no substitute for the putt-putt of Aslan though ( maybe you could dub it over the soundtrack??)!! Keep the shiny side up - and thank you.
Stunning!
Beautiful. Thank you.
I still follow your routes in VR. It gives me a chance to go slow and have a real look at things. I enjoy it, and I appreciate your vlogs for bringing me to these places to explore.
For instance, at your campsite, there were what appeared to be jetties going out into the water, which were confusing. Looking at them from above, though, I could see they were natural, and there were lots of them. I went out and had a look at the lighthouse on the small island, and went out to look at the pointy island in the far distance. I went through the Lagg Distillery, which sells some very expensive whiskey, and I like studying the houses and various buildings in the area.
It's more akin to walking the routes you travel and having the time to slowly look around when I want to, or speed ahead when there's not much to see.
And now, episode three gives me more fun things to explore. Thank you for being my virtual tour guide, Kevin. You're a gem!
I tour the Highlands annually and use campsites along the NC500 ; most of the bikers that use that route have little time to admire the scenery due to the speeds they ride. I like your attitude of cruising whilst taking in all that most of Scotland has to offer. And I’m from Wales !!!
Awesome to hear that, thank you.
Really enjoyed this, Kevin, thanks for letting us tag along.
You're welcome Jack, thank you
Nice videos Kevin, We've just come back from Scotland, stayed in Lochgilphead and drove around the same road as you on Arran and Kintyre so you video is bringing back lots of memories, we caught the same ferry from Claonaig to Lochranza.
Another amazing video, scenic and beautifully edited with all of the stills and slow rolls. Jealous of your time on the road. 1 day I hope to be able to travel again as I did in the past, on water and land. Stay active, Be Safe and Take Care !
High praise, thank you, that you're getting the itch to travel again. Cheers 🙂
Love your comments and sarcasm …. but it’s so true that’s the sad parts .Cheers my friend from South Jersey U.S.A.
very good I like
Another great slice of wonderful countryside Kevin. I ran out of adjectives as the scenery rolled by! Great camera work!
Thank you so much for taking us on this incredible journey! The views are simply amazing. Videoing on the bike is incredibly immersive. I'll never get to see those places in person, but this is the next best alternative.
And the weather gods continue to shine
Good evening, Kevin. What gorgeous scenery. Brings to mind the word "idyllic." Looks like a perfect place for a relaxing stay. I know technically you're working, but with all the beauty around you, I'm sure it doesn't seem like work. The best kind of job!
Looking forward to more episodes of the beautiful islands. Thank you for sharing.
Love your “twisty turning tarmac “ you have a poetic soul❤
Fabulous, cheers 🙂
Thanks for taking us along, Kevin!
Absolutely beautiful scenery and that camp site was first rate! Thank you for sharing!!!
You are so right about the media trying to make us think everything is awful! When you interact with real live humans, you find that most folks are just living life on the daily. I certainly don’t have time for the drama anymore. (Leaves more tine for knitting!)
