Chapter 7 - Sensory Rooms - How to Create a Total Sensory Immersion Experience
Have you watched our previous chapters?
    • Fun and Function video...
In previous chapters, we discussed our 8-senses, learned about sensory processing and self-regulation. We looked at sensory challenges and spoke about implementing a variety of sensory tools in the classroom and on the go.
In this video, we’ll discuss the concept of our customized sensory rooms. These rooms can provide a total immersion experience in a sensory environment. They can be calming
or alerting and one can engage all the senses at once using whole-body involvement.
We’ll discuss what elements to include in a sensory space.
Watch now to learn which types of equipment go into the different types of spaces and how to use them correctly to provide calming or active experiences based on each student's needs.

Sensory Solutions at School - Video Series
This video series aims to remind us that all children want to succeed! Our job is to help each child succeed by providing the best suited environment. Part of that can be achieved by understanding sensory processing and its impact on behavior, social interaction and learning. If we learn to see the behavior of children through a sensory lens, we might be better able to address their challenges and help them succeed.
This video series is brought to you by Fun & Function and presented by Rivky Berger, who is a skilled occupational therapist and trainer with over 25 years of experience working with children, parents and teachers, in a variety of settings.

Very helpful. Can a calming relax corner be enough without a separate room? My child tries to stay in the separate little room most of the day as he doesn’t understand the rules

Could this also be beneficial for adults? Especially adults with physical disabilities? For example, let’s say somebody is blind, but they also have a few other issues. Would a sensory room still benefit them?

Yes it would,a sensory room benefits anyone with any disability or even people without a disability.
