If I could like this a billion times I would. I have been dying to be able to double up when paired to my computer, but even when I double up from my phone while my computer is the second device connected it would kick the second speaker off when I start playing from the computer. This worked! Thank you!

If you can't pair a UE BOOM with a device or can't double up a pair of UE BOOM speakers these TWO things are important and always solve the problem for me.
1) RESET the the UE BOOM or two UE BOOMs if your doubling up.
Power on. Press the on/off button and the minus sign button simultaneously. Wait up to ten seconds for the percussive noise which signals a reset. The UE BOOM will power off. You have successfully reset.
2) Remove the UE BOOM or UE BOOMS from your device. You can do this in the bluetooth preferences however it works with your OS.
Once your device is clear turn on your UE BOOMs and double up as described in the video above.
This works for me. Every time.
I have two boom speakers, identical model and part numbers, only difference is S/N #’s. I reset both of them like you said, and pressed “forget this device” for both from my Bluetooth menu (iPhone 6s plus w/ latest available software). After then competently completing the procedure as described in this video, both Bluetooth button lights on the speakers do not turn to solid non blinking illumination but instead both continue to be rapidly flashing and sound only plays through one speaker. Have attempted multiple times, doesn’t work. All this after downloading a firmware update file from ultimate ears website which doesn’t launch.. only one speaker is able to use mobile app functions, the other says software update is needed, although all they offer is a dead end goose chase with poorly worded instructions and poor webpage functionality with crippling bugs when seeking to obtain said update.
This is awesome, thank you. I just bought these speakers yesterday and the guy at the store was clueless as to if this was even possible. I figured it must be, so I bought them anyway. This video was simple and worked on the first try.

Cannot thank you enough! I bought this UE Boom two years ago and it has just sat around my house. Well, today I thought about youtube and how I can usually program and work any device and yes, I GOT MUSIC!!!!! I'M PLAYING CAN YOU BE MY SUPERMAN WITH MY IPHONE 7PLUS!

When you press the button twice, make sure that it's two quick clicks. Slow presses do not work.

Nothing worked UNTIL I updated the firmware (not sure if it was needed, but why not right).
Also, be sure to connect each speaker separately (on/off one at a time) and give each speaker it's own name "boom 1, boom 2, etc in the app settings (if using the app). Otherwise the app did not recognize the speakers separately, even though my phone's bluetooth was connected to 2 speakers. Then, on the app, I was able to drag the 2nd speaker to the center of the screen and get them both synced. Phew... Rockin now! Hope you all have the same good luck.

Thanks a million for this video. I connected two UE boom speakers to device supported on Windows Phone OS and it worked perfectly though sound was doubled up at the first time. I had to use UE app for Android on Samsung Galaxy and switched to stereo mode. After the next pairing to Windows Phone OS sound was stereophonic. Thank you once again.

Awesome guys. A tutorial that worked first go. Love my ue booms. Apart from yellow charging cord.not robust enough, have thrown away 2. I'm glad I had 4 booms with 4 cords. Now 2

I am soooooo glad you made this video!!! I couldn't get them to pair with my Samsung Galaxy 4 and all the videos I watched wouldn't let the Samsung use the NFC feature to connect with the UE Boom. Also the instruction manual does not tell you how to connect the speakers the way you did!!! hanks a ton.
I was having allot of trouble pairing up my ue boom's and came to this CZcams and the demonstration worked! I am "Rockin all night" know with my doubled-up ue boom's.:)

2019 and that trick of "press volume up and the little bluetooth button, at the same time" (on the first, already-playing speaker) still works. Thanks. I'm using one MegaBoom and one fairly old Boom 2.

This simply doesn't work (firmware updated) upon first connect via Bluetooth so no idea if this ever worked. Via the app is pretty flaky too...
Yes, this is exactly why I bought the speakers. They sound great with my iPhone but would like to have Stereo when using my Macbook Pro.

@@jblfamily02 personally I do, but they never went too in depth without the app. You really do need the app for most thing & the future of these speaker is scary because of it :/
I got Boom 1, multible boom 2s & megablasts (1) I don’t like the newer one because they don’t have aux ports.
I just got the hyperboom & it’s out of sinc with the other speakers when paired by bt or wired so I plan to return it. Plus same app problems
But the boom 2 I would recomand for travels, megaboom 1 for home use & work :)
You should mention that the FIRMWARE in the UE Booms needs to be up to date, and both UE booms need to have the same firmware version for this to work.

My daughter (now 6 yrs.) and I have taken a Jabra Solemate for the past 4 seasons to snowboard at Heavenly/Northstar/Kirkwood (Lake Tahoe). It's neatly attached externally in it's protective weather resistant bag on the back of my pack. We have our own soundtrack as we snowboard down the runs. We get tons of looks (good) and people trying to follow us and grooving to the jams as we go.
Sadly the Solemate is a single speaker and will not allow any type of syncronizing between other speakers. When I read the UE Boom did this I IMMEDIATELY bought TWO. We will be testing them for a week straight from 19-25 Jan on the slopes.
I'm sitting in my living room right now and comparing them to the Solemate. First I compared one UE Boom to the Solemate directly. The Solemate wins slightly as far as slightly better bass - however the UE Boom is noticeably louder without distortion - even at the highest volume setting. Next I compared TWO UE Boom's connected (using the method in this video). WOW!!!! I'm stoked. They are SOOOOO LOUD and in PERFECT SYNC. I simply cannot wait for our snowboarding trip to kick off the 2015 year! She will wear one on her pack, I will wear the other.
My only complaint [and really, it's barely a complaint since I understand deep sounds need space for being created] is that I so wish the bass was deeper. Maybe you could make a UE Boom Subwoofer attachment that could be sync'd? That way there'd be an option for it if someone chose to carry it - believe me, I'd find a way to get it on my pack on the mountain!
Lovely story! :) So how was your 2015 snowboarding trip at Lake Tahoe to the sound of two UE Booms connected together? I hope you and your now-13-year-old daughter are doing grooving good!
Can i do the same with boom 2 and wonderboom? Dont have wondeboom yet but planning to buy one.
You can do this with the UE Boom 2 synched to the Mega Boom as well. You just have to choose the Mega Boom as the first one and the Boom 2 as the 2nd. Finally you must push the synch button on the Boom 2 a total of 4 times. And the UE Booms sound pretty nice ain a vehicle as well.

Thanks. About time someone figured it out. This is so awesome because this is the very reason why I ordered two of these speakers was that you could pair them together. My main question is when you pair them this way without the app, do they become Left and Right or do you have two stereo speakers playing?

I have a galaxy 6, can I pair a boom and a room together?
When connecting this way, if you use the aux cord on one of them, will the speakers still be connected? Or will it then only play on the speaker that has the aux cord in it.

I can't seem to get this to work. I have two UE BOOM speakers connected to my Windows Vista PC, which is Bluetooth capable. Only one of the speakers is working. Each time I try to double up the working speaker stops working and the other speakers starts working. I also have there two speakers connected and double up to my smartphone, so just in case they can't work with two devices at a time, I turned off Bluetooth on my phone. Can you help me get these doubled up for use with my PC? I've gone back and forth with customer service by email, but the last time they responded to me was just over an hour ago.
when he says press the bliuetooth connection twice he should say rapidly. It only works for me if I press it twice as fast as possible. I did it with 2 megabooms on my ipod and Samsung 7 edge

Each and every speaker is good once its connected, but UNTIL its connected is a big pain and time consuming. Yes, I updated the firmware just today. It takes so long each and everytime I want to double up! I am using UE BOOM both same original models.
this didnt work for me, but after much playing the following did work
1. hold '+' and 'button' on primary speaker (button flashes)
2. hold '+' and 'button' on secondary speaker (button flashes)
3. press 'button' twice on secondary speaker......give it a few seconds
very similar to vid but mine needed step 2 as well. Hope this helps

Its didn't seem to work for me. Not sure I went wrong. I rename my original and a second one popped up all my Bluetooth but it still won't connect. Edit update finally got it to work.

yes it does basicly what u need to do it press the + button and bluetooth button on the firstspeaker without hold it and the the second just double press the bluetooth button : yw Ik the videa wasnt clear xD
Its possible on some android devices . Like for my s10 plus i can connect 2 different speakers at once and play music at the same time without the app

You can pair two ue boom 2s? I thought you can only pair two ue megabooms...
tried everything to get my two UE boom-2 speakers to double up no luck at all. Tried via the app no go tried manually still nope. both units are updated seems frigging I'm possible. I can connect via Bluetooth tooth to one or the other but can't them to connect to each other.

I am having charge issues with my UE boom 2. I initially used the app to connect, but just deleted it. I am not trying to connect my UE to my Bluetooth on my phone, but it’s not pairing.
Does this also work with UE Boom 1 (first generation)? Because pressing the buetooth button twice on my second device does not have any effect at all.
Unfortunatelly this does not work for the UE Boom Generation 1. However when I updated both Gen 1 UE Boom to the latest firmware I managed to permanently connect both in stereo mode via the Android App. Now I have to connect my laptop only with the first one and turn on the second and voila! - both boxes play the music from the laptop in stereo! 😊

Yes, it is possible. I just did it. I have a boom 1 I bought 6 years ago and I bought a boom 2 on ebay two weeks ago and I couldn't until I saw this video and it didn't help much and now I play music with both of them at the same time. ..the app did not help me... thank you very much
Does this pair them in stereo format by default, or just 1×1 dual play? Is there a way to set/change these two settings without app? And I also REALLLLLY want to know how to use my two Boom2's stereo synched to my laptop so we can watch VLC media with these awesome cans!

CAN I connect a EU Boom 2 with a UE Boom 3? By the way, is the EU Boom 3 as good as the EU Boom 2. I think the 2 is fantastic for my near deaf husband.
