- Ellen chatted with Tahar Rahim, star of the hit Netflix series "The Serpent," which centers on a real-life serial killer in the 1970s. He explained that while he ultimately decided not to meet with the murderer he portrayed, there was still a part of him that wanted to see how and if he'd con him in real life.

Watch him in The Eddy on Netflix. Beautiful and amazing. He's killed off early but comes back in people's memories. He made me light up just watching him and I didn't realize where I'd seen him before, even though I only watched The Serpent about a month ago.

Actually he was already a big actor in frace and some parts of Europe but after Mauritanian and the serpent he's got international recognition and he's working in Hollywood now

If you love Tahar's acting, and not scared of subtitles, I strongly recommend to watch 'A Prophet' by Jacques Audiard, where he got his first major breakthrough role. He was awarded 7 times for it. Literally bewildering performance

I first saw Tahar in the movie The Prophet and let me tell you, his acting has stayed with me ever since then. He is soooo good! And if you haven't watched this movie, I highly recommend it. It does a great job at showing how the prison system doesn't reform, but turns them into real criminals instead. Watch it!!! Tahar, I will see win an Oscar soon, my friend. Bless you and your talent!

I could feel the darkness of this character every second all thru the show... Awesome job. Not forgetting the great job the directors, editors and lens men did too to help bring that out.

I saw him for the first time in “The looming tower” and then in “The serpent” tahar played Charles Sobhraj so good! Couldn’t have been any better! Amazing series! A must watch

He played quite a hero in The Looming Tower- so not always dark roles. And Mauritanian is also not a dark role, just a man who was wrongly imprisoned for years but still has an upbeat view of life. The Serpent is the darkest but still very interesting. Loved all your roles, Tahar.
