In order to make GTA basketball better, the schools and AAU teams have to get better. Most schools are ASS in basketball, with a few being the exception. For AAU, it's the same thing. "Rep" teams, are shit. We need more teams like Northern Kings, CIA Bounce, Uplay Canada, Yes II Success, etc.

It's because most schools team coaches are regular teachers and they don't get paid extra to lead a basketball team. Why would a teacher want to take time out of their own time to lead a team, get no extra pay, and there's 0 guarantee your team is any good. It's not worth it to most teachers

Guys from Eastern Commerce, George Harvey, Oakwood, Parkdale, Lester Pearson and St. Michael would get scholarships to US colleges back in the 70s early 80s. Windsor use to have Provincial Champs i.e. WD Lowe HS. I remember when Bill Wennington played at the Jarvis Tournament. There were some ballers back in the day, but Toronto talent seems to have exploded since the Raptors came to town. The Braves were as close as it got back pre-Raptors.

Funny to see so many black people speaking without the American, African-American accent and sentence structure. I'm happy for them and Canadian basketball. Canada is a great country. Too cold for me though, but my summer visits have been great.

I grew up in a Jamaican neighborhood. While I was hooping, my friends were all organizing cricket games. They always used to big up "Canadian massive" in the dance hall. I still don't have an experience of Toronto from a black perspective though, most of my friends there are Indo-Paks. I feel like I want to learn my way around the 6 better, in case Trump gets any wilder. It's nice to see the basketball scene there flourishing. Toronto' s moving up the pound for pound list.

hell ya it can. I playedhighschool ball in S.ont we were a small but really good school. We crushed everybody in our divison by like40 points. we went to TO for a tounrmnet and they had kids tossing ally oops from half and dunking over our 6-8 center and we were crushed by like 40 points lol. One play the coaches son for the other team went to throw an ally oop from his hip, from the half line and the ball just went right into the net with no other contact. We went to another torunment and that team we played agianst was playing in a different tournment close to where our tournemnt was. between our games we went to watch some of that tournment. when we lookedat the program forthe tournment the program ranked the teams and the team we played was one of the bottom ranked teams, its hard to immagine there are US schools much if any better than the quality of talent I seen at that tournemnt.

Alright I live in Toronto and i have to say its a LIT asf city all the time but there are pro's and con's Cons: Taxes are high, There is a lot of traffic in rush our. DO NOT GO to the CN tower because its overpriced. Pro's: Nice looking city not much traffic on normal days and times, Great nice people. Public transport is okay.
