I live in Illinois and our governor just passed a new budget that includes $440 MILLION to go to healthcare for non citizens! Plus $500 million to University of Chicago for some project which his family has some vested interest in. CORRUPTION at its best.
Until WE ALL GROW A SET and BAND TOGETHER and hold them accountable we'll continue to be stolen from, lied to, and rode like dogs!
It's not that we don't have courage the system is rigged against us. Where do we even start. I think that's going to get solved on a grassroots level people helping their neighbor.
That is beyond ridiculous. And if there were no tax paying citizens, how would the government live their extravagant lives? I would leave California immediately.

Was born here in California in 1954. Have lived here all my life. Grew up in southern California, have lived in northern California for over 60 years. Love It but can hardly afford to live here. Was homeless for year and a half. Currently live in a community house with 5 other elderly women. We all have our own room! Thank goodness for S.H.A.R.E of Sonoma County otherwise we would be living out of car or ⛺️.

Question everything
56% is outrageous. Most of my income goes to taxes and insurance. Leaves very little for anything else. There is no excuse for not having accounting down to the penny unless there is corruption. The government doesn’t have a petty cash or slush fund. 😡

You should have spoken up.
I suspect they are pilfering $$ and then calling it “missing” because it creates anger and fear. The homeless (really just about everybody) are on their own. That is the state of affairs in this country. Don’t expect it and you won’t miss it! 💕

And like you said there's no accountability. The organization are not working together they don't know who needs housing the most people who are free from drugs should get into housing first there's some people who are have substance abuse issues they have housing but they're still on substances.

I live in the desert. The local "rescue mission" is a rehab center. They help the cons and tell the homeless that in order to stay there they have to take a months or year long drug program. They arent helping the homeless. This is going on around the country.
I'm 76 and this s*** is been going on for decades and for most people in my opinion if your boat is not rocking you don't give a damn but be informed everyone's boat ship yacht will be rocking before this s*** is over with

This is happening everywhere. In New Mexico the commodity program that helped so many was taken over by another company and suddenly not enough to go around. We went to our local food bank no food. We are in a tiny town but it’s getting really bad for those on limited income. It’s horrible. Accountability definitely needs to happen. We lived in Northern California for close to 20 year’s but couldn’t afford to any longer. We’ve been here 8 years and love it. It’s basically affordable. But the struggle is real everywhere.
We get what we vote for.... Maybe the voters need to rethink who they vote for.... It's really obvious....

This is because of the hatred some people have for the homeless. Repulsive behavior of those who were chosen to help the people. My son n daughter-in-law were doing great for years but this year not so much. Anyone could end up not doing so well and needing the help of the government. ANY ONE!

There was this guy Elvis who could build a small unit to live in if your homeless just for $1,200 and the city wouldn't go for it they wanted to make it a lot of money as a big old racket people have to get their two cents and we can sell homelessness 24 hours

The answer to this question is really simple, actually. We live on a planet with finite resources (like oil or iron, etc.). There is only one resource that is still growing, and it grows exponentially. That's humans. So, to make a living, one needs to figure out how to mine, as it were, this resource. We live in a capitalist society. That means that you have to take more from your resources than you give to make that profit to advance yourself.

Uh, this is a news item from the beginning of April. Not new, but yes they should have checks & balances to be sure money is spent correctly.
Im thinking could you imagine a cashier at a store claiming they couldn't explain where the cash register or the money in it went.
The boss comes in....saying ....where's the cash register and all of the money in it. The cashier replies ..""".oh a ghost or a gremlin took it"" or saying "" my dog ate all of the money "" It wouldn't be hard to track down who received the money and what they did or didn't do with it. I couldn't imagine a cashier saying to their boss....hey boss I lost the register money.
If somebody is asking for money to help the homeless they should be able to show RECEIPTS. It needs investigated. I see so many places saying their supposedly helping the homeless but the people on the street Goin through hxll in the heat and elements.
